    Lakewooder:
You are sadly disillusioned if you think earning $25,000 is considered “breaking even”. The idea of working, and this is clearly a foreign concept to you, is to PAY YOUR BILLS! For many years now, people have been working so that they can LIVE! That means paying rent, tuition, food bills, health insurance, etc. (Beside the point, you’d have to earn slightly more than minimum wage to not make more than $25,000 a year, an unlikely scenario as it is)
I must have missed the announcement that it’s ok to sit back and relax at the expense of your shver and the government. Having someone else pay your way through life is definitely not the way to break the povety cycle for your children!
If you are only learning because it’s not “worth it” to work because the free cash won’t flow in, you may want to take a moment to rethink if that is the place for you right now.
Take a look around you. Those who are successful monetarily are not sitting back because “it’s not worth it”. They are out there hustling to earn a buck to provide for their families. THAT is the way to break the poverty cycle.
