Lakewood-Based Shomer Shabbos Medical Supply Company Donates A Truckload Of Lifesaving Medical Supplies To Haiti
EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: (See extended article) Erev Shabbos January 30th, Dealmed, a Shomer Shabbos medical supply company received an urgent phone call from Congressman Ed Towns office. Congressman Towns staff expressed the urgent need for medical supplies to perform various lifesaving procedures. Dealmed employees and local volunteers from within the Lakewood community worked all Erev Shabbos in conjunction with a trauma surgeon that was flown in from Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida to help prepare appropriate medical supplies to be donated for use in Haiti.
On Motzei Shabbos, a group of Dealmed employees volunteered to drive and unload the truck at JFK Airport. Under heavy security, the crew of doctors, state representatives together with the medical supplies flew down from JFK International Airport to the Dominican Republic.
The flight was sponsored by Jetblue. Once in the Dominican Republic, vans were used to transport the Dealmed supplies by ground into Haiti. The state representatives reported back, that they were in awe to see a company respond so swiftly to their request. The many medical personnel and all volunteers who gave up their time should be commended for their time and efforts to travel to Haiti and help make a difference, even if it was to just put a smile on broken hearted child’s face (see pictures).

i just cant get enough of all this kiddush hashem that is going on! first the IDF then this company DEALMED! And this is not the first time, dealmed made a huge kiddush hashem with their offer to the lakewood ems as reported here in TLS! May this company have a lot of hatzlacha! Enough with Haiti already there are millions of people in the U.S.A. that can use it. It is a terrible thing that happened to the people of Haiti and they have had tons of help which is grate, but now it became a cause like global warming. The people in New Orleans are still suffering BIG time not much has been built, so why don’t people give to them after all they are fellow U.S. citizens? I think the answer is simple, its not the hot story anymore.

You may think my comment is worthless, which is fine and you have a right to feel that way, my life will go on (at least I hope so) but don’t tell me when I can and cant comment that is not your right, you don’t know me you don’t know if I gave money to Haiti or not, that is not your business. #2, as a resident of new orleans and someone who went down to haiti, unless you have lived thru or been touched by both experiences, keep quiet. You dont have any idea about what youre talking about. Ill give you the fact that you have “the right” to speak, but you should use it to keep quiet and you might sound smarter. Everyone speaks there opinion and finds a bs cause when they usually dont know what they are talking about…as in your case. I dont blame you i blame the media and our culture…it is not your fault. But next time youre in new orleans i would like to see you hand deliver some medical supplies to the people of the 9th ward and see if thats what they still need? Why dont you tell me how many people live there now? and i dont care about your feelings on international policy are but in this circumstance, being an eye witness to the haitian need, believe me mind ya business.
