Mayor Steven Langert On The Storm And Cleanup

Feb 06 2010 8:22 pm

Langert as Mayor_wm8:21 p.m.TLS just spoke with Mayor Steve Langert who had the following to say about the storm and cleanup process. “First of all I would like to thank the Public Works who worked tirelessly throughout the night to plow our streets, and did a great job. There are streets which were plowed earlier on which will be done again. If we missed your street, post it on TLS so they can get the message over to us. I would like thank all those who attended the meetings to help improve the cleanup process including  John Franklin, Tony Arecchi, Jim Casey and especially Committeman Meir Lichtenstien and Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller. Again we would like to remind everybody, that if you don’t have to be on the streets, please don’t take your car out, as it will only complicate the cleanup process”. “Also, please don’t shovel your snow into the middle of the street- It’s counter-productive”.

Best job on earth! Cleared all the way to the blacktop and from curb to curb! Salted and plowed in a timely fashion. We kept all vehicles off the road totally and reaped the benefits.
Thank you DPW, steve, menash, meir, ray, and bob!

Steve I can appreciate what you mean when you say “Also, please don’t shovel your snow into the middle of the street- It’s counter-productive” But it would likewise be nice if there was an efforst made not to block in the drivways especially after we send all the time digging out. The driver should TURN the plow so that he doesnt block us in!!!! Please do something about this b4 the storm that is coming mid week. thanx

For inviting the Lakewood EMS Department, Lakewood Fire Department and Lakewood First Aid & Emergency Squad to that meeting, Oh wait we weren’t invited! Guess thats because we’re all on the chopping block!……..in spite of not being invited we all still did our jobs as firefighters and EMT’s but some of us felt maybe we shouldn’t because you obviously don’t care about us!

  • blacktop says:
    February 7, 2010 at 12:20 pm

I do exist under all that ice and slush on Forest Avenue & 14th Street. Why didn’t you plow all the way down to the blacktop like on County Line Road? Does the county have better plows? Maybe we can hire the guys who plowed ShopRite Plaza to plow our local streets, they did a great job!
