  1. Are you serious? You think I’m going to register my child in the public school??? Who do you think is going to be sending their regular ed kid to the ps

  2. These guys are nuts. They think we are going to send our children to public school. Do these guys live in our community.do they go to our shuls? Are they so out of touch ? Would they send their children to the public school? Where’s the dass….

  3. This is on the ps premises. We all know very well that there are gangs and drugs.. in the ps and this is what you want to introduce the kids to?

  4. How will children be getting kosher food there? At the same table as other children are eating non-kosher.
Who’s taking off work for holiday and mid winter weeks – no one!

  5. If they actually cared about the kids and not some agenda this would never have happened.
it’s a disgrace that we have board members that can sit back and let it slide. blaming the state is not going to get you anywhere.

  6. They don’t need to provide a frum environment. No one expects a public school to teach religion. the point is that a good program shouldn’t have been messed with.

  7. why arnt my post going through ?
to much truth in them ?

parents deserve to know a little of whats going on and what to do. and have thier eyes opened.

  8. Thanks TLS for keeping the story updated! It’s sad that this is the news but I’m happy I have a reliable source that keeps on top of the story.

  9. Nice to see they hired a few people from tt staff but it’s a FAR CRY from the same program. Having a handful of the same teachers on a different premises with a different program is NOT GOING TO WORK!!!
Bad attempt at trying to keep everyone pacified.

  10. To # 15. Please understand, especially over the last few days, we have been flooded with comments and all comments are carfeully read prior to approval.

Longer comments are usually not posted as quickly as shorter ones.

Should you have any additional questions, feel free to contact us via email.

    Thank you

  11. No food will be allowed to be brought in from the outside.

This campus is seperate from any PS campus. No gangs etc to worry about.

SUGGESTION: I would advise all to go to the open house on Wednesday night at 8:00 and you will see for yourself what is being offered. You wil be able to meet the teachers. You will see who your classmates will be. You will also be able to ask questions. Then you will be able to make an educated decision. From what i have been told and have seen, it is not the picture that is being painted by the above comments.

  12. tls u need to make a press meeting for all parents tonight we need to come together tls u have the power bec we dont know who to call everyone reads this please help ur children!!

  13. I don’t get it. I realize that it will be run by the PS but isn’t it the same teachers and same program just at a different location which will only have frum kids in it? Why is that such a problem?

Why is this different than the public schools in Monroe for the special children there?

  14. Is this to ease the board memebers conscience before yom kippur? They are offering all children PS placements? Why didn’t this get suggested for Bais Hatorah? I don’t think TLS should run this ad.

  15. It’s not all of the same teachers and not nec the same program (they never did this before so how do you know what program they’re running – look at their track record of other programs). location is at the ps not in a random open area. bad influence for 3 and 4 yr olds to see what goes on there.
Monroe PS is ony monroe children – you know that it’s not like the lkwd ps system. Do you see a difference now?

  16. Aren’t you people the ones crying about how expensive tuition is and constantly “threatening” to flood the public schools???

Well, here’s your chance- put your mouth where your money is!

You can’t expect to have it both ways. And why should they cater to religion? They don’t have to- it’s PUBLIC!

  17. #22 you guys arent getting it. in a public everyone registers. where are all the people that were supporting the tax cutting board members a few days ago. welcome to reality. our special needs children are going to Public School all in the name of saving 10 dollars a year on your tax bill.

  18. wake up parents the boe is not going to fund your special needs child only if you get into schi, so if your smart, find the right proffessionals and borrow money and do what ever you have to give your child yourself, then youll have a costume program studies show this works! turn to your medical insurance company, catasrophic or lawyer. forget the boe

  19. Making this decision right before the school year opens is entirely IRRESPONSIBLE. Who is applauding the BOE’s decision and is looking forward to send their child to a public school?
Does the BOE really understand the ramifications of this or is it some game and they have a personal agenda?

  20. Does the district really feel capable of running a regular ed, inclusion and special ed program at this point? how responsible is it for them to take on so many new children a day before school commences? What kind of responsibility is this especially if no one is going to be checking up on the ps system from the state. I’d like to see the state audit the lkwd boe and the ps system here.

  21. I think you can yell all you want. The teachers are frum and the children in separate facilities. The Dept of Education is bending over BACKWARS to accomodate these children. Stop making a mountain out of a molehill ! I think everyone would have liked to see TT continue but there’s a new reality. Get used to it! Stop yelling traifa PS…..You don’t make much sense anymore.

  22. how are they making sure that there are only jewish kids in this program. The boe was saying the whole time that it wll be cultural diverse.

  23. you guys are so funny. when you thought everything was ok with tiny tots you were thanking the BOE and saying how great they were and how happy you were with how they did their job now something doesnt go your way and once again they are the worst people ever. grow up the world doesnt revolve around you. take the decision at hand and act like adults and do what you have to do. if you dont want to send your kids to public school then find other means plain and simple

  24. To all those who are bashing the tt parents for not wanting to send their reg ed children to thre public schools,

The children will b emainstreamed along with the “hernandezs” of lakewood who do not speak english let alone their behaviors and cultures

Would you want your child to be in such a situation.

  25. #35 is right! Either pay for tuition for non-special ed children yourself or send them to PS. The BOE is doing what is financially responsible and STILL trying to accomodate people, what else can they do?

  26. your great grand parents would have jumped at such an oppurtunity. calm down . this is alot better then what they had. besides if you are sobworried about goyim in the classrooms then why werent you worried before . you had goyim at the old location too.

  27. Can someone explain this to me? Are we talking about regular ed children? and if so whats all the yelling about? As with every child here in Lakewood, you have an option if you don’t want to send to public school then pay for private school. Can anyone answer as to whats the fuss all about?

  28. are we talking about special ed kids? do they now where they are? also didnt tiny tots have spanish kids in the same class anyways? relax let the tax payer keep the few million dollars in our pocket!!!!!

  29. In Flatbush there’s a program in PS and from what I hear it’s highly successful. Hopefully, it works out here, too.

I didn’t have a kid in TT. Will have everyone in my prayers. Least I could do.

  30. All the special ed children in TT already signed on. They had “mixed”classes in TT, so it made no difference. There are 5 classes left. If enough TT parents join in, then they wil be filled by TT children. Go see the site, it is not near any PS with all the gangs etc. See the teachers, all the same as TT. See the children enrolled so far, all the same as TT. Intead of yelling, get the facts

  31. I just want to now, to what ratio to jewish to non-jewish children will be in each class? How many children per class? Will they have any Hebrew subjects? Alef-Bais?

  32. i f this would of been done by a board of approx 10 15 – years ago there would be a hafgonah of 10000 people decrying the lack of sensitivity etc. .You would have hundreds of state troopers controlling a crowd from 10th st till 1st st with every news station covering this anti whatever act

  33. number 47 … nothing is wrong with children whether jewish or non-jewish. what is wrong is the parents subjecting their children to their prejudices. i went to public school many years ago in the yorkville section of manhattan n.y.c.. mostly german and jews (religious) i am neither german or jewish. it was a grand school … we studied and played together. our parents were involved in school activities. what has happened to that kind of education. THAT was diverse. we had different nationalities and costumes and it never seem to bother any of us.
