Two Lakewood Based Internet Businesses Defrauded By Stolen Credit Cards

credit card fraudTwo Lakewood-based businesses are out thousands of dollars today after being defrauded by stolen credit cards, Detective Lieutenant William Addison tells TLS. The businesses – a beauty supplies business and another wholesale company – both located in the Industrial Park area, were selling products online when they discovered that the items they shipped, were purchased with stolen credit cards.

The credit card fraud – on a rise in this economy – may have cost the businesses close to $5,000 Addison says

Properly verifying the credit cards prior to shipping out the purchased items says Addison, can help avoid these situations.
