BREAKING NEWS: Akerman Offered To Replace Senator Singer On Ballot

Sep 08 2010 11:42 am

akerman_shana_tova_picEXCLUSIVE: TLS has just confirmed with Mayor Steven Langert that Isaac Akerman has been offered Singer’s place on the ballot, should Bob Singer decide to back out of the race. “After consulting with fellow Committeeman Menashe Miller, the President of the Republican Club of Lakewood Craig Theibault, the Chairwoman of the Municipal County Committee Valarie Smith, and others, it was agreed to offer Independent Candidate Isaac Akerman Senator Singer’s place on the ballot should Singer choose not to run for re-election”, Mayor Steven Langert tells TLS.

Singer is still considering his options, as pressure from the Governor’s office continue to mount on all dual office holders to give up the position.

TLS spoke with Independent Candidate Isaac Akerman moments ago who said, “I am very honored that they offered me the position should Singer decide not to run. I still pledge to do what’s right for all citizens of Lakewood.”

TLS will continue to keep you updated with all further developments in this closely watched election.

The Republicans realize they need Isaac more than he needs them, especially after the Fink Fiasco.

Now Langert can really get cracking and continue to lower spending. Without BS holding him back we expect much more from him. All the (self moderated!) that caused us grief started before he became elected. Now with ackerman I hope he can actually reduce my tax bill. Shana Tova to all.

Isaac- you will do it without them! Don’t accept their offer! Stay clean!

He said he was an Independent. If he says yes to the Republicans, how can he be the Independent any more? He will have lost all credence with me.
Yes, to say “yes,” is the easier thing to do. What picture does this paint for any future hard decisions that will have to be made? Again, take the “easy way” out?

Ackerman will not reduce your tax bill. If you think he will, I have a bridge to sell you. None of the members of the committee or any candidate will reduce your tax bill…stop living in a fantasy world!

  • Lakewood Taxpayer says:

Ackerman should take the offer and accept the Republican spot.

we need az mass call in to Akerman`s campaign that he should not take the R seat.

To all who say he should not take it, only a stupid person will not take this. This is not a matter of take the easy way out; strategically it is the smartest move any one would do. Instead of running a 3 way race it is now a 2 way race.

So calm your self’s down. He still has an independent mind and will do what’s right for ALL communities.

Remember one thing; he did not ask them for the seat, they came to him. So as far as he is concerned he should have the attitude of the upper hand.
