Bais Hatorah To Remain One Yeshivah

Sep 01 2010 4:55 pm

kanarek silberman meeting_wmFIRST REPORT: [U/D] TLS has just been advised of a drastic change in the Bais Hatorah School’s plans, following a meeting which concluded moments ago. The Yeshivah, we are now told, will remain one Yeshivah with Rabbi Yaakov Landesman Shlita remaining as the Menahel, and Rabbi Avrohom Luria Shlita will be taking the position of 8th grade Rebbe, in addition to S’gan Menahel.

A meeting between Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Kenarek Shlita – the new Dean – Rabbi Landesman Shlita and Harav Silberman from Eretz Yisroel – whose Derech Halimud the school follows – took place this afternoon, in which the decision was finalized.

rabbi landesman and rabbi luriaIt was also decided, that the Yeshivah will remain at the Swathmore Avenue location.

It was earlier decided, that the Yeshivah would split, giving parents the option to join a second Yeshivah run by Rabbi Luria and Rabbi Klein, of Bais Hatorah.

The Yeshivah is expected reopen tomorrow, but that decision is yet to be finalized. TLS-CCP

6:40 p.m. TLS has just been notified, that the meeting which was to take place this evening for parents, has been cancelled. Parent will receive notices by tomorrow morning, when school is to begin.

Know lets all help make a effort to the children who have not been accepted for this year yet and get them into schools.
TLS should place this point on top and a fetured article

we are thrilled! let’s just hope that this is the final story and there will be no more changes yet again!

We’re being tested. How can anyone say there is not enough money to go around? We have a father in Heaven and He has as much money as anyone can ever need. We need more bitochon. Maybe it’s time to stop extravagant spending for those who have and help more than before, those who have not. The money doesn’t come only from your hard work, it comes from Hashem. Maybe Hashem is testing the well off as far as giving more is concerned and He is testing those who are hard off with having more bitochon. Hang on there everyone Yom Hadin is coming.

A special thanks goes to the Mashgiach who worked so hard on this. Meetings by the Mashgiach at all hours of the night some only starting at 12. It makes me wonder what Lakewood would be without the Mashgiach.

l’maan haTorah, I think the TLS should post a daily shitckel mussar since events don’t seem to generate the hachna’ah the Oibershter is apparently demanding. R’ SCK should be a gutte shaliach, and people should adjust their expectations to the realities of the day. Kesiva Vachasima Tova.

    To #1:
Tiny Tots was a split program. Half was a government program, and half was run by (moderated). This year the government (thankfully) stopped the program, which gave free tuition to so many people who did not need it.
Tiny Tots is closed. It is a thing of the past. Give up on it, and move on.

  • Anonymous says:

BM, you are right. Only the illegals deserve free tuition, no Jewish boys!
Your mind has been corrupted by the liberals, freedom of religion really means that no matter what your religion, you will get the same benefits. There is no reason at all to have public schools, as long as all kids are placed, and all parents should get the tuition aid.
nd your taxes won’t go higher, as public school costs the taxpayer double than pruvate school, and less than half the kids nationwide go to private school.
So again, by being anti tt, you are basicly following the ways of all Liberals, to only support the Liberal school system.

very impassioned argument. make it to the legislature, not to the poor guy whose pocket you are picking to pay YOUR bills. While the system may be in need of fixing, it is the system today. So you think you can outsmart it on the backs of your brothers? reassess your priorities and make a cheshbon hanefesh. Now is the time.
