LCSW Assist PD In Another Arrest
At approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning, an LCSW member patrolling the Forest Avenue area noticed a black male roaming around the area, wearing a backpack. Looking like he did not belong in the area, the member called in for additional units to observe the man from a distance.
While keeping an eye on the man, the units witnessed the man enter a resident’s property, whereupon police were called in.
Police arrived moments later and found the man on the private property and was subsequently arrested an taken into custody. TLS-32/TLS-CCP

WOW! B”H. May H’ continue to watch over us. Thank you LCSW.
Officer Gregg does it again. I would be honored to shake his hand.
“…Looking like he did not belong in the area,…”
Sorry but this is called “profiling” and is illegal in NJ. You will have to let him go.
Gr8 work
The LCSW was profiling, not the police. He doesn’t have to be let go at all. Get your laws straight.
Old timer- your reasoning is exactly why we need CHANGE.
profiling is necessary at times to protect the greater public. If we can not demonstrate that, we will all turn to savages.
Profiling??
Exactly how?
They have full right to keep an eye on anyone!! Especielly if he doesn’t seem like a resident of the area.
And it wasn’t till they saw him on a private property that they alerted the Police, so exactly why will the police have to let him go???
They are average citizens who volunteer to patrol the streets and help the police keep us safe…they don’t have an issue with profiling since their not law enforcement…so there’s your answer
Old timer would rather be robbed than have someone watched.
I agree with Old Timer! Laws are laws for a reason. Profiling is illegal!!! Stating that someone does not look like they belong is nothing but racist and prejudice and you wouldn’t want that done to you!
“Profiling” is not illegal. It is illegal for the police to do “racial profiling”. We all “profile” throughout our day. When you meet someone who smiles at you “profile” the person as a friendly person. When you meet someone who stares at you with a stern look and his fists are clenched you “profile” that person as not friendly and possibly dangerous.
If an Orthodox Jew with a yarmulka walks into a church and sits down in the front row while the pastor is delivering a sermon he will be “profiled” as someone who doesn’t belong and he will be noticed.
LCSW patrols the neighborhood to look for things out of the ordinary. They watch and if they see something illegal they report. There is nothing illegal about it.
Police were called in because he looked suspicious! He was in a predominantly orthodox area at 2am, roaming around and carrying a backpack. Has polictical correctness gone to the point that common sense cannot be considered???
and what was he charged with?
sounds like ARIZONA LAWS, looking like he didn’t belong! wait you meant a black guy, right? PROFILING!
remember according to our town fathers, Lakewood is 50% orthodox, 30% seniors, and 15% minority. so were they 85% right or wrong in profiling him in that area.
”and you wouldn’t want that done to you!”
Anonymous, try flying to certain countries dressed as an orthodox (radical) jew then you’ll see what profiling is.
Ok, he was profiled…now what are you gonna do about it?
That man being in that area at that time of night is enough for the average person to generate reasonalble suspicion that the man was about to commit a crime. The people watching him are not law enforcement there for they are not subject to the accusation of profiling. However what they were doing is no less than what the police look for which is obviously something out of the ordinary that clearly doesn’t fit. If that man had been in a area of town where it could have reasonably assumed he could have belonged themed this would be a different story. You have to look at this in the totality of the circumstances that the lcsw were witnessing. They saw a black male in an area late at night in an overwhelmingly orthodox neighborhood carrying a backpack. They were right to keep an eye on him and immediately call the police when he was observed walking to the rear of someones property. They did not harass him all they did was observe his actions like they are supposed to do.
forget the profiling since when does the constitution require us to have strangers in our property at 2 am ?
is that the law of the USA?
he was arrested after entering private property its not a profile issue
Another great job by the LCSW. Keep in mind – if u see s/thing, SAY s/thing !! That means, Keep Profiling !!
yay 304!!!!
I think “Old timer” should give his address so when LCSW sees a black male enter his property theyy should just keep moving.
Profiling, not profiling….. I just wonder the following. Just yesterday there was an identical incident only not in an orthodox area. It happened in Leisure Village with an out of breath individual chasing someone with a weapon no less-BECAUSE “he didn’t belong there”!! Why is there only one comment there about profiling?! It’s not even by the same person who initiated the discussion here(Old Timer) In fact the comment there about profiling is first posted at 11:39 AM TODAY. Apparently Old Timer doesn’t consider it profiling so long as it’s not by an orthdox individual. I find it interesting that there are 3 comments on that story a DAY later and 20 on a story that was just posted this morning. Anyone see the same thing I do? It’s called a double standard!
old timer…are you related 2 the young man who entered aa private property at 2.am with a back pack? was he there to do a food delivery? are u annoyed because a crime was prevented? that Profiling? which school did u go?
Hey, Old Timer #3, you took my name away! I’m the original Oldtimer and I’m 100% behind the LCSW and the LPD in this. THanks for protecting us all!
Old Timer #3, get your own name!
if profiling helps one crime, and is a fluke on 15 others…. i say its still a tactic thats worth doing.
And guess what- everyone, fits 1 profile or another. Either as a geek, dangerous, trashy, religious, friendly, drug user, etc. if you happen to have walked into a community your skin color tells me you dont belong in- next time pick a neighborhood to rob that has your skin colors. dont blame the cops/lcsw for doing there homework, because you as the criminal didnt lol.
what happen is some body enter in black people property lcsw care lakewood is all no only some people..
profiling however little or big is wrong so if a black is in a jew area oh stop him wrong um if a jew is a black area of town stop him wrong its wrong and illegal on all levels if ur wrong fine but just cause ur color race religion dont fit oh well lcsw n police dont assume till u see a problem
hey # 10 gimme a break where did u go to school, n this is the usa INNOCENT until proven guilty by a jury of your peers so ill assume u r white what if u get arrested for being in a bad part of town,, with ur buddies {lcsw}| or the cops saying ur buying drugs whose gonna say profiling then
oldtimer we need more like you who know the law n who were born here
