EXCLUSIVE: Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno Visits Lakewood
EXCLUSIVE VIDEO & PHOTOS (Includes statement on Christie’s decision) Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno visited Lakewood today, where she visited Komo Machinery headquarters in Industrial Park, and met with officials. Komo is company #71 of Guadagno’s tour of 100 companies in NJ, where she meets with business leaders to discuss the company’s needs for further growth, while highlighting the resurgence of business in NJ.
In a closed meeting, the Lieutenant Governor met with the company’s CEO and top leaders as well as with Deputy Mayor Steven Langert and Director of Economic Development Steven Reinman.
Following the meeting, Guadagno was given a tour of the facilities.
After the tour, TLS asked the Lieutenant Governor what she felt about the Governor’s announcement today regarding the 2012 Presidential race. (See video).

It’s good to see that the state is waking up and realizing that Lakewood is truly a jewel that needs to be defended and encouraged. Lakewood has the Second largest industrial park ok the state. Think about that for a moment. We need to seriously think about how we protect and increase our ratable base in our industrial park. I dont even want to imagine what our property taxes would look like without this industrial base in town. Kudos to deputy mayor Langert and to Steve Reinman for insuring that Lakewood was included on the lt. Gov’s tour.
Protect lakewood’s Industrial Park! Bring in business and industry.

You sure are NOT protecting and increasing the ratables in the industrial park by turning the buildings into TAX EXEMPT schools. Just saying..

The industy is a near……. You just got to make sure the state doesn’t throw up too much red tape……
The Industrial park was not designed for schools.Many students are walking ,narrrow Airport Rd. and other streets where there are NO Sidewalks,minimal lighting,no bike or walking paths…We are Shooting ourselves in the foot by allowing schools into an industrial park.Unheard of anywhere else. It will actually drive away industry and make existing tenants uneasy.Good Ratables,jobs,etc, or non-profit ,untaxable schools.Short term solution.Things are tough all over
why are there more schools than companies in the industrial park where is the benefit in that ?

Leave industrial park for businesses; put the schools on oak street area &/or on lkwd New Egypt – across from Westgate area. Thanx Steve & Steve for ur dedication to the cause.
Instead of building in every corner of the town set aside property for a school campus, with many schools on it. Before its too late, Steve better start to think about this. Princeton Ave was a perfect space to have built a very big school, but they gave it away the property………apartments now litter that site. 9th street was perfect at the old field, now a parking lot…..

the lakewood industrial park is home many huge companies we residents dont realize whats there. the revenue that these companies bring to this town is enormous if we keep putting non profit and non tax paying schools (that the township/boe has to provide services for that cost money)we will slowly push these large companies out and prevent more from coming in and also prevent much needed funds coming to the town

Instead of meeting with some of the companies in the state, why not visit with the First Responders that protect this state during all types of emergencies..
