Bais Yaakov Of Western Monmouth County To Host Open House This Sunday

Dec 07 2011 2:07 pm

[SEE FLYER] The school year of 2011-2012 at Bais Yaakov of Western Monmouth County has been off to a wonderful start. The girls are smiling as they walk through the door each morning and are ready for another exciting day. The warm and loving atmosphere created by the experienced teachers and staff can be felt as they walk through the hallways. At the recent PTA the mother’s all came in so excited and enthusiastic about the Bais Yaakov, offering their assistance wherever needed.

With Morah Leah Weiss as the Limudei Kodesh teacher, the girls have accomplished so much in such a short amount of time. Over the course of the year, they master the Alef Bais and then Nekudos until they can read on their own. It is the highlight of the year when each girl gets her own Siddur from which she can now daven.

Learning about Torah and Mitzvos in a hands-on way makes everything so much more exciting. Before Rosh Hashanah, they were privileged to have their Dean, Rabbi Veshnefsky come and blow a Shofar for them. The girls visited Brookside Assisted living and performed their Yom Tov songs for the elderly. What a big mitzvah! In honor of learning about all the animals that entered the Teiva in Parshas Noach, the girls took a trip to the Animal Health Care of Marlboro. They saw firsthand about how the animals are taken to doctors and cared for. Thanks to Dr. Breitstein, the girls enjoyed a most interesting and educational tour.

General Studies with Morah Miriam Brisman is fun and exciting as the girls learn and grow together. The girls are learning more and more each day as they master the ABC’s as well as many sight words. Each week is packed with activities, games and arts-n-crafts that are designed to help the girls remember all that they are being taught.

The girls are learning so much about the world around them. They cover topics such as seasons, shapes, colors, feelings, five senses, and many more. They took a trip to the apple orchards of Wemrock Farms as they learned how apples grow. They had an apple-tasting party in which they learned about different kinds of apples and the differences between them. Each week, the girls learn about community helpers which coincide with the ABC that they are learning that week. They enjoyed visiting the fire station as they learned about the Fireman and about fire safety.

The parent’s have been very happy, one of them said. “My daughter comes home every extremely happy. This the 1st time that this has happened.”

Hanhalla Rabbi Chaim Veshnefsky, Dean, is the mara d’asra of the Manalapan Community. Rabbi Veshnefsky is an alumnus of Bais Medrash Govoha, in Lakewood, and the Yeshiva of Staten Island. All halachic and hashkafic questions concerning the school are directed to HaRav Reuven Feinstein, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva of Staten Island.

Rabbi Baruch Sher, Menahel: Rabbi Sher is an alumnus of Bais Medrash Govoha, in Lakewood, Mir Yerushalayim, and Yeshiva Derech Chaim.

Bais Yaakov if fortunate that Torah Umesorah, The National Society for Hebrew Day Schools, has taken a personal interest in our school. Rabbi Yisroel Meir Rubinfeld, executive school consultant has been intimately involved from the earliest stages of the Bais Yaakov.

The school will be having their ‘Open House’ Sunday December 11th from 10:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. For more information regarding the Open House or for an application please contact the school office at (732) 683-0244 or bywmc@yeshivanet.com. Or call Rabbi Baruch Sher directly at (908) 692-8942. [TLS - Submitted].

Sounds like a very caring school. What kind of children do they cater to? Yeshivish only? Will they accept girls from homes that have tv/internet, modern orthodox type?

All schools in town have children from homes that have internet. However they require an Ishur. So does Bais Yaakov of Western Monmouth County.

Why don’t you call the school directly about their policies (instead of assuming anything). ?
