Wife Of Committeeman Langert Donates Kidney To Young Mother

The wife of Committeeman Langert, Mrs Sharon Langert, donated a Kidney moments ago to a young mother. Shifra Rachel Bas Bracha Michla, the mother of five, has just completed the procedure, and the Kidney will be donated to Orly Bas Sarah. “Even though it is so close to Pesach, Sharon has agreed to donate now, as to help Orly avoid the need of going on dialysis”, Renewal, the organization arranging the transplant says.

“Orly, a mother of a young girl, will IY”H get a new life because of Sharon’s amazing selfless act”, they said.

“Kidney transplants have a great success rate. However there needs to be Siyata Dishmaya that it be successful. Please take a minute to say tehillim for the success of the transplant.”

Committeeman Steven Langert tells TLS, “I’m extremely proud to be her husband”. TLS.

  2. Your wonderful act of chesed is an insperation. May and your Orly both have a Refuah Shelema. I am baking challas and have both of your names in mind.Kol Hakavod

  3. God has blessed two people. Sharon Langert is blessed for her humanity to another. The recipient is blessed to have a friend like Ms. Langert.

May they both recover quickly and have long and prosperous lives.

  4. wow- the selflessness is amazing. i think someone living in lakewood should arrange a way for people to offer their services to Mrs. Langert for cleaning/cooking help prior to pesach. I wished I could do it but Ilive far far away from Lakewood, Ir Hakodesh!

  5. Sharon is a tzadaikes in every sense of the word! Whether it’s volunteering her time for Hatzolah, YTT, or the so many more org. that get to benefit from having her help, she always puts in 1000%! And now she gave the ultimate present to someone in need. How many of you jokesters would do that???? I’m proud to know her!

  6. this is a really hard surgery for the donor- its actually easier recovery for the recipient anyone that does this is an amazing person

  7. Who says the recovery is easier for the recipient? It’s no picnic for the donor, but most recover well enough within a couple of weeks. For the recipient, it can take months. Physical pain, staples from where it’s inserted, a stent that must be removed a couple of weeks after, the pump attached to the side of your body, draining fluid away from the new kidney. The outrageous amounts of ant-rejection medicine flowing through your body, creating a euphoria and tremors. I could go on, but I think you get the point. I had a kidney transplant. There’s no way it’s easier for the recipient. Mrs Langert is a person who gives with her entire heart. It’s my wish people will emulate her and consider donating their spare kidney to one in need. A life with kidney failure and on dialysis is hardly a life at all. Bless you Sharon. You know who this is.

  8. My wife has already donated her kidney. Is there anything else she can donate that will be a big enough story for the scoop to report??

  9. I, too, donated a kidney. I know how wonderful it feels to be a donor. To “Been there” I wish you a refua shlaima. I have spoken to a few recipients, and each case is different. Some bounce back quickly…some take longer-it depends on many factors, bla bla bla…you don’t wanna hear that! I pray that you heal quickly and fully and enjoy a long long healthy life- with Hashem’s blessings.

  10. Each case is in fact different re; recovery from transplant. That being said, I am in touch with many recipients and the general consensus is it’s a tough ordeal. At first. If the recipient is young and has never been on dialysis, it’s going to be easier for that person. I wanted to shed light on the reality. As for anonymous who says his wife donated a kidney – you are married to a tzedekes. What more could you want? Publishing this story was an act of chesed for all those on a waiting list for a kidney. Perhaps they will be touched by Mrs Langert’s generosity and consider donating themselves. That was the point. Do you really believe Mr or Mrs Langert need the PR? It’s for Renewal and all of us who have benefited by their persistence. I’m doing great. Life has never been better. I have energy for my family and I’m getting ready to return to work. Hashem has been kind to me.

  11. Amazing, Kol Hakovod! Now this is an act of chesed that he can be proud of and no one can say that they did it for ulterior motives! Hashem should bentch their entire family with all the good.
