Nearly 1,000 Attend Levaya Of Yosef Meir Z’L

VIDEO: The late night Levaya of the young Yosef Meir Z’L drew a crowd of close to 1,000 men and women. Yosef Meir’s father noted how Yosef Meir Z’L must have had a special Neshama for the mere fact that he was able to unite tens of thousands of Yidden around the world and bring them to be Mekabel on themselves various Tikunim.

Reb Ezra, who never questioned the Ribono Shel Olam, but on the contrary thanked the Ribono Shel Olam every step of the way, thanked the Ribono Shel Olam for giving him a special Pikadon for 13 years.

Yosef Meir’s grandfather said the Nechama they have is that the fact that such a large crowd attended the Levaya is proof that Yosef Meir Z’L accomplished more in his few short years on this world than others do in a longer lifetime.

Reb Henoch Perl said that Yosef Meir Z’L was a Korban and part of a Mageifa in Klal Yisroel which is caused by the lack of Tznius within Klal Yisroel. R’ Perl said it’s nice to be Mekabel Mishnayos L’illui Nishmas Yosef Meir Z’L, but it’s more important that the Tzibur be Mekabel on themselves something harder like Tznius, in order to end the Mageifa.

Yosef Meir’s Rebbe in Yeshiva moved the crowd to tears as he spoke about Yosef Meir’s exemplory Middos and Hachno’ah. His Rebbe explained how Yosef Meir would cry when he spoke to him, because he always wanted to do the right thing.

“Tonight we’re all crying because Yosef Meir can’t”, his Rebbe said. “We’re crying because we won’t be able to see you cry anymore. A father tears Kriah on his son, and a Rebbe Es Reist Dee Hartz.”

The Rebbe said the empty desk in the classroom is something just too difficult to bare.

“A Rebbe looks at every Talmid like a future Gadol Hador, we lost a future Gadol Hador.”

The Levaya ended shortly before 1AM.

Shiva will be taking place at 1190 Buckwald Court. Shachris will be at 8:00 AM, Mincha at 7:45 and Maariv at 9:30PM. Visitors are asked not to come between the hours of 4-6PM.

  4. why is it always” TZNIUS” IN Lakewood , How about sinus chinum, I am not a Rov but to pinpoint to one issue sounds lame to me, a baseball is a “makeh” in a sense wouldn’t we want to relate that to sinus chinum? only my opinion

  5. My son is in Chaim Yosef Meir’s z’l Yeshiva and he told me , I will visit when Chaim Yosef Meir z’l comes home. My son –
.he’s home but with the Rebono Shel Olom.
When Reb Henoch Perl spoke at the Levaya about Tznuis he ment that each and everyone of us, women and men alike should look into themselves and see what we as idividuals can work on to improve on Tznuis within ourselves. Without pointing fingers at anyone but ourselves.
The Rebono Shel Olom took a true pure neshama away from us, now lets all create pure neshumos within ourselves.
I’m sure if the Berger family sees a change B’Ruchnus in our community it would be a big Nechuma for them.

  6. I join thousands of people who were mispallel for Chaim Yosef Meir z”l around the world. Our neshamos are broken and we are filled with tears over his loss. Our hearts are with his parents and mishpacha. Please know that you are never alone in this tzara. Acheinu Beis Yisroel are with you; we are one blood, one heart, one soul, one People. While we can never know or understand why things like this happen, we can make a pledge to continue the strong achdus feelings we had over these past months and extend them, hopefully only with times of simcha, to all of Klal Yisrael. This will be a great zchus, I am sure to the neshama of Chaim Yosef Meir. Let us each wear the banner of V’Ahavta L’Reyacha Kamocha- Am Echad B’Lev Echad and in that merit hasten the coming of Moshiach Tzidkeinu B’Mhayra B’Yamaynu. HaMakom Yenachem Eschem B’shoch Sha’arei Tzion V’Yerushalayim.

  7. #6. You’re right – he was clearly speaking to men too. Tznius is for men too. That’s why there’s an asifa for men on Sunday.
    May they have a nechama.

  8. #6 I can’t agree with you more. My question is why do we need to put any “blame” on this, Can’t we just talk about the wonderful boy?? The family is so dear to me, they should only recover and have Simchos.

  9. Tznius is for men too, I have yet to see quidelines for “men’s dress code”. Is it the secound botten, the shues, the color of your hat? I would love to hear.

  10. # 6 & 7
i dont fully agree with you as i know someone who has begged his wife to buy a better woredrobe [ and offered $1000 for it ] & she said no !!

this internet asifa would not be needed if the men didn’t see all this filth that walk our streets daily

no i am not blaming anyone but the fact is that when they see such things it leads them to the filth on the internet [ no point in arguing over this ]

i am clueless why the asifa isn’t for women as well !
they use the internet too don’t they ?

  11. who cares what color shirts you wear

YOU ARE A JEW LIKE EVRYONE ELSE
WOULD THE HOLY CHOFETZ CHAIM NOT BLESS YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE A BLUE SHIRT ????

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO US !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE EVERY SINGLE JEW NO MATTER WHAT OR WHO THEY ARE PERIOD !

  13. How do you so totally lack class that at such a time you stand up and complain about what a maspid at a levaya of a 13 yr old boy says? Shame on you!

  14. please note its the familys RAV that spoke at the Levaya. #1 – so he has the right to say as he is their rav and devoted to this special family.

    Stop being the judge.

#2 Please realize the family, relatives and friends are reading these posts.

if you have nothing to say productive, than dont say.
Vayidom Ahron. ‘and Ahron Kept Quiet.’

  15. Uncovered knees when sitting is a major and very common problem in Lakewood. Why is everyone OK with this? Take on something b’tznius! I know short skirts are cute, but really it’s gone too far.

  16. About the tznius, the Rov Shlit”a didn’t say that’s why this happened, he said that’s something that we need to work on, of course Sinas Chinom is also very important to work on.
An exapmle, When you buy or lease a brand new minivan and poke out the eyes of all the people and children who don’t have one, isn’t that Sinas Chinom?
    Just a thought.
In the Torah it says Yakov ish Tom, a “Tom” is a simple person, not simple minded! but living simple without showing off.
May his pure neshama be a Kapora for all of us.

  17. I was at the levaya and the Rabbi Perl’s hesped is being quoted out of context. He clearly did not claim tznius as the reason nor did he demand it on his own. All he did was quote (from inside) from previous gedolim as the chofetz chaim and others that whenever tzoras happens to klal yisroel there is a lack of kedusha and tznius and he emphasized that it applies to men and women alike. If you were there you would have seen as his whole hesped was with tears and crying and not imposing or demanding rather begging for us to be mekadaish ourselves. Knowing R’ Ezra I’m sure he had no issues with the chizuk and hisorres he offered as he is from Rabbi Perl’s most beloved mispallelem as anyone in that shul can attest to.

  18. May the whole family know that we share their pain and loss. Especially his siblings should know that we feel for them in their time of loss and how hard this whole experience has been for them as well as their amazing parents. When tragedy strikes, we as a klal come out and try to do whatever we can, we should try to channel this achdus in our day to day lives and to #18, the sinus chinum is looking at the new minivan your neighbor got and being jealous of it instead of being happy for him that he was able to buy one. May the family be zocheh to simchas.
