Organizations Who Applied For CDBG Funds, Approved

The organizations who applied for Community Development Block Grant funds, were approved, Director Ervin Oross Jr. says. Not all the organizations will be receiving the amounts they asked for Oross says, but they will be getting a part of the requested funds.

The hearing was held earlier this month at the Municipal Auditorium.

The funds will be awarded later in the Summer Oross says.

The CDBG funds allocated for Lakewood this year is $873,048, a slight increase from last year.

There are strict guidelines for the funds, and at least 15% must be earmarked for public sector services.

Some of the organizations applying this year were Catholic Charities Emergency Service, Chaveirim, Ocean County Hunger Relief, Tomchei Shabbos, Omega 13, LCSW and others.
