  1. I used to live in New England Village, and Sunset Road used to be such a quiet road, after living there for almost 30years it has become such a bad and busy street, everyone speed through, the speed limit should be changed.

  2. pedestrians being struck by vehicles are becoming the norm just like the burglaries. People are always driving around Lakewood as if they were in the Indy 500! hope the young man has a quick recovery.

  3. Yes Sunset Rd has become a high speed and high traffic road but if people would stop parking so close to Powderhorn you could see on coming traffic. Lets start to observe the traffic rules, that would help alot.

  4. If these young “men” would walk on the sidewalk it might help. ALSO stop the ILLEGAL hitchicking. Does anyone think using your pointer finger instead of your thumb is not hitchiking?

  5. I witnessed a Nes today – someone’s kid – about 7 or 8 yrs old I think – rode his bicycle across Rt 9 by one of the lights AFTER it already turned red! Assuming cars would wait for him he cycled into the lanes. A big White van didnt see and hit the gas pedal as the light turned green. The van slammed immediately on breaks when he saw kid and missed him by a hair! I screamed so loud in my car and almost stopped breathing! I was so relieved that the kid was unhurt.

The kid – had no idea that he almost just got killed and kept riding… I drove up along him and told him to go home and tell Hashem thank you he isnt dead and that he better make sure to never cross once the light turns red.

    this happens everyday
why arent parents teaching thier children the basics before they let them outside
ps did he have a helmet on or that is to much to ask for to ?

  7. People in this town don’t know what sidewalks are for. They look at you like you are in the wrong driving on the road, like that is their space to walk, someone should have a lesson on where you are supposed to walk. Stop saying we need more sidewalks until people start using them, and as for hitckhikers start arresting them for breaking the law,not a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again.

  8. I dont understand whats wrong with hitchiking do your research and hitching was only banned because either the hitchers or drivers would rob /kill each other the fact that cars make stops in middle of the road is NOT why hitching is illegal in fact how is it much differen then flaging down a taxi!!?therefore i dont need peple worrying about my life as i take rides from frum people and i havent heard of a single story that has occured in lakewood where theres hundreds of hitchers a day if you recall durring the mta strike Mr. Bloomberg (our Daddy)told people to stick their finger out to get a ride! there definately should be nothing wrong with doing it when the cars are stopped you might have to wait an extra second so what if busses can stop traffic every single block why cant i for a second!! not everyone has the luxury of a car and a good insurance would be to do some chesed with it so please stop and pull over when safe and give us a ride (ps.most of the time you stop dangerously short is because your debating if you should give a ride so stop debating…
    thank you
a big time hitcher who if ever driving looks to give out rides
