BPU Commssioner To Attend LUAC Meeting In Response To Growing Number Of Utilities Complaints

In response to the growing number of concerns regarding the various utilities issues in Lakewood, the Board of Public Utilities Commissioner Joseph Fiordaliso will be attending an upcoming Utilities Advisory Committee in Lakewood in September.

The Shopper reports that among the main issues to be addressed will be JCPL’s disregard for complaints, lack of service and the sometimes dangerous circumstances as a result of the company’s poor equipment maintenance.

Fiordaliso has served as the BPU’s Commissioner since 2005.

  1. Does the LUAC get any funds etc. From the NJAW?? Why is only complains about jcp&l always in the news? When askin any lakewood resident they will all say NJAW IS MUCH WORSE! than any other utility

  2. NJAW rips me off every month on fee’s that no one else charges. Over $110 a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That more than 1/3 of my bill.

  3. eh.. The Commr’s attendance is more of a show than anything else.. This guy is known to already be in bed with JCP&L for a few years..

  4. Emailed JCPL about a light that burnt out on my street. I had a response within 3 hours and the truck was here replacing the bulb within 12 hours. Great job!

  5. America water is a much larger problem which has to be addreesed.I pay more for water then all the other utilities. Why cant Lakewood wake up and do something about it.

If your individual story did indeed occur, it stands in very strong contrast to everyone else’s horrible and ongoing experiences.

Additionally, if you do know of a unique and apparently unadvertised way of reaching them and getting a proper response via “email” – then you should really consider sharing the specific email address of the JCP&L employee with the rest of this township’s citizenry and governing officials.

    You might help save lives..

  7. Try getting them to add a light to recently built up dark block, first call township who will send a cop eventually to inspect, based on his report they may eventually recommend to JCPL to install…….
    WTVR waste of time!

  8. My only complain is the extra service fee that American water charges , if you look at their web site it says this charge is covering their cost of buying water , which begs the question why don’t we buy the water direct from the source.

  9. The topic is JCPL, not other utilities.
    Save that for another day!
Or, start by monitoring how much water you use or waste each day!
Water is a very precious commodity.

  10. The BPU commissioner should also be in charge of the water services. And NJAW is known across the country as the worst and most expensive. I can’t tell you how many times I open the tap to see brown sludgy water coming out…only to call and hear about yet another water main flushing which will make the water brown for yet another 3 week time period. Then, they want you to run the water until its clear which sometimes takes a half hour. Then you get the bill with all the tacked on fees and outrageous sewage charges. Ive been paying over 200 a month for water for 6 years…and we are a modest family of 5!
