School Bus Passes Being Sent Out Today Via First Class Mail

The Chairman of the Transportation Committee Isaac Zlatkin tells TLS that the Bus Passes for the year 2012/2013 will be mailed out today. “In the past, the Bus Passes were mailed out as a bulk mail which the Post office doesn’t have to deliver right away and many people didn’t get their passes before the beginning of the year. This year we are sending the Bus Passes first class and they should arrive to everyone by the end of this week” says Zlatkin.

Zlatkin adds, “the Transportation Committee will meet this week to discuss plans to have, as in the past, extra hours in the transportation department during the first weeks of September to accommodate anyone in the district who has unresolved issues with their bus transportation arrangements.” TLS.

  1. i think we should set us a system to report on bus safety issues- I live in a devolpment and often see busses not stopping by stop signs, turing without using signals– Driving while taking on a cell phone– This is a danger to the children on the bus, and others on the road (cars and walking) I tried getting phone #’s to bus companies– but I was not able to– The violations were seen from many of the bus companies– And No– the drivers that werent careful were not frum

  2. #6 You are ignorant of the process which started at the beggining of the summer.
The routing process has just finished few days ago.It takes time for bus companies to review the routes and send their correction to BOE, so bus passes were not ready a week ago.
It takes time for bus companies to review the correct routes and send their correction to BOE.
Every year the BOE used to send the routes to my company few days before September, this year they are actually early and there is still no time to send but first class.
Last year there were many parents that didn’t get their passes on time and coudn’t get on the bus.

  3. Should be written into the transportation contract that the contractor pays for any mailing fees due to the lateness of the passes, ridiculous!

  4. I must agree that there are many issues that must be worked out before passes are issued but I also must agree with feivels comment …. I live in a 25 MPH school zone which is also in a 25 MPH residential zone and I have yet to see a school bus obeying the speed limit … I would guesstimate since I don’t have a radar that they are doing at least35 to 40 MPH all the time on my street

  5. I’m sorry but when we pay whatever the number is for busing, we should be able to demand a due date and not waste money on first class mail, I’m sorry Mr Bus Owner but that’s not ignorance, that’s the world of business.
To be more specific the ignorance of you not caring about mine and your tax dollars.

  6. that’s very nice when your child has been placed in a school. please have your children show mercy on their friends that are not receiving bus passes.

  7. In NY the buses and passes are dealt with by April for the upcoming year. Obviously there will be changes made later on in the year, but with this early deadline there is plenty of time to make the corrections.

And yes #12 is correct parent please speak to their children to be sensitive of others who don’t have a bus (or school)

Question is, why is the post office in Lakewood not trustworthy. I get it that so many letters in a short space is difficult, but I know many people go to Howell to send out invitations.

  8. Dear Parents: Since the time is near for busses to start rolling again, please remember, understand and do not request housestops NO HOUSESTOPS ! it is not allowed. Fewer stops mean the children get to school on time. Also bear in mind the first week of school will be chaotic until things settle down and traffic eases.

  9. And if you look at another article posted here you will see again children are not in school… Where do you send the bus pass for? what school, what bus? The Private Schools must do a better job in placing the students stop blaming the BOE for this one!!
