UPDATED: Over 18,000 In Lakewood Without Electricity

UPDATED: There are currently over 2,000 without electricity in Lakewood alone, JCP&L says, and this is hours before the brunt of the storm is expected to make landfall in New Jersey. As earlier reported, if you lose power or see downed power lines as a result of the storm, report it to the police and to JCP&L at 888-544-4877.

There are poles and wires down in multiple locations around town – many taken down by falling trees.

UPDATE 3:30 PM: There are now over 5,300 without power in Lakewood and over 65,000 in Ocean County.

If you did not call JCPL for the power outage in your area, be sure to do so – even if your neighbor already called.

UPDATE 6:30 PM: Over 9,000 in Lakewood without power.

UPDATE 10:25 PM: Over 18,000 Lakewood residents are without power.

Do not expect power to be restored until after the storm – and possibly days after, as per JCPL.

  1. The bulk of the storm has yet to approach. Remaining calm is of crucialness to yourself and your children and it’s imperative that all approaches to safety are made. Some constructive forms of anxiety relief are meditation, and any type of excessive. Meditation consists of breathing in & out at slow rates and trying to build positive thoughts.

  2. Princeton, Monmouth near county line, a lot of Kol Shimshon area = all w/OUT power. Big tree down on Squankum near farm-Fresh may be culprit. Kocho Ug’vuruso Malei Olam. End of Story. DB.

  3. has ANYONE actually gotten through to JCP&L? Every time I try to call the calls drop out.
When are they realisticly expecting service to be reinstated?
