Toms River Police Charge Armed Lakewood Felon With Aggravated Assault on Police, Posession of High Capacity Ammunition Mag, Other Charges

A Lakewood man was arrested and charged with a slew of charges today when police arrested him in Toms River early this morning, Toms River Chief Michael Mastronardy says.

Toms River Police responded to the Suspicious Persons call at about 1:45 AM, and upon arrival Corporeal Art Pennell, Sergeant Michael Miller and Officers Jason Putkowski and Pascal Gambardella confronted the person and after an altercation placed him under arrest.

Police charged the 29 year old with: Possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, Possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of High Capacity Ammunition Magazine, Terroristic Threats, resisting arrest and aggravated assault on police officers.

Officers recovered a load 9 mm Smith and Wesson gun on the suspect.

He is being held in Ocean County Jail on $300,000 bail. TLS.

  2. And explain to me how tougher gun laws would help. He is not allowed to cary a concealed weapon he is not allowed to have a high capacity mag he is not allowed to even own a gun period but he did all of those and then some ?!?!?!
