Director of LCSW Resigns; Cites Family, Other Obligations

Shrage Pinter, the Director of the Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch, has resigned, TLS has learned. Pinter lead the LCSW volunteer organization for nearly two years.

“Due to family and other business obligations, the time has come to move on”, Pinter told TLS. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member for their time and dedication to LCSW. It has been a great pleasure to have served with you with pride and dignity during my tenure.”

Pinter was asked to lead the organization in March, 2011.

“After much thought I agreed to accept the position and set aside much time to take on this role so that I could give back to the community. I felt that there was a great need for this organization to grow and flourish as the community has doubled in the past few years”, Pinter said.

The following programs have been implemented during his time as Director, the resignation letter stated.

-Five marked vehicles doing visual patrol many hours of the day

-Banners and posters throughout the town educating the community “If you see something, say something”

-Setting up available security grants for local schools

-Assisting in safety awareness trainings for Lakewood Police Department and Homeland Security

-Creating a database of private schools listings with addresses and phone numbers

-Educating people to call the police on any suspicious activity or incident that occurs

-Promoting children and parents to register their bicycles with the police department

-The streets of Lakewood are safe to walk at night knowing that there are an extra set of eyes and ears

-LCSW members Assisted PD in many arrests

The resignation is effective as of today, Pinter says.

  9. SHRAGIE’S CHARM & WIT WILL BE LACKING FOR OUR LAGE COMMUNITY. MR. PINTER IS AN UNUSUAL FIGHTER. HIS DEVOTION TO THE PUBLIC IS JUST REMARKABLE.

  10. Mr. Pinter did a real lot for our community. Its a shame he was not only not recognized, but he was also not treated respectful enough for a someone holding his position in law enforcement assistance.

I hope the new director will be just as good, and hopeful!y PD will learn from their mistakes.

Thanx for all that you’ve done.

  11. Smart move, Shragi. The oilam must realize that behind every askan is a family waiting for them to come home. Someone’s gotta help w/ bedtime & homework. U can always re-enter askanus when the kids get bigger. Thanx for all u’ve done. Hatzlochah ! Dudi B.

  12. The police worked just fine with LCSW. In fact, I’d venture to say, they went BEYOND the call of duty in working with them. The only thing they weren’t willing to do was turn a blind eye when LCSW overstepped their boundaries. That is the JOB of LPD and cannot be held against them.

  13. Thank you Shragi for all you have done!!!! You made the organization more visible and effective. Hatzlochah with all your future endeavors !!! PS ; Come back if you should have a change of heart

  14. shragi was a tremenous pillar to the community and helped in every which way and unless the pd learns to appreciate the help they get like the nypd the community will lose
