NWS: Lakewood Could Get 4-8 Inches of Snow This Weekend

URGENT: A Winter Storm Warning in effect from 3 PM Friday to 6 AM on Saturday, the National Weather Service says. Lakewood could see snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches, the Warning said.

Snow Friday morning will change to rain during the daylight hours, and then back to heavy snow late in the day Friday or Friday evening.

One to two inch per hour accumulations are possible for a couple of hours Friday night, the Service said.

JCPL says customers are encouraged to plan ahead for the possibility of storm-related power outages. TLS.

  1. More like a foot is a strong possibility ….. nyc will see up to 19in and Boston area will see 3 feet

KEEP IN MIND THE WINDS WILL BE OVER 50 MPH SO POWER OUTAGES ARE A REAL PROBLEM

  2. BLIZZARD WARNING now in effect for all of NYC, Long Island, Northeast NJ, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Eastern Massachusetts including Boston

  3. In all probability we will see less then that, because tomorrow the highs will reach 44 degrees according to accuweather unlike in ny with highs of 37

  4. winds are highly unlikely to be a problem in lakewood where peak wind gust should stay under 40mph. the snow which could be heavy and wet at first is more of a problem. we are right on the edge of rain/snow so wouls not be surprised to end up with 2 inches shabbos morning or 20 inches if things come together just right. computer models are all over the place with accumulations right now.

  5. look it’s ex chief rodney youmans. i bet he’s excited he’s not chief anymore with this huge snow storm coming in.

Good luck to chief stark, his assistants and firefighters.

  6. to look at the bright side: the timing works out well in that the snow should be done falling by shabbos morning giving the snow plows much emptier streets to drive through. considering what they endure each snow storm with our crowded streets this is definitely a well deserved break!

  8. Before the last snow storm I told the new owner of my neighbor’s house that a tree will have to be cut down as it is falling on his house. He said “That would cost money”. Well, that tree has been laying on his roof since that storm and lots of LARGE branches are in his front and backyard and some are still hanging down from the trees in a very dangerous way. And there was a small fire on the house. Over 3 months and he has done NOTHING.

  9. Blizzard Warning: That is not our area. Anonymous, It’s a big help when you invite ppl for kugel but we don’t know who or where you are, Is that supposed to be funny? BTW, I lost power overnight, but BH it’s back!
Lakewood person, not in this area.

  10. After shabbos ends, no matter how much snow that we do or do not get PLEASE remember a few important tips:

Do not rush out for a slice of pizza, as the roads may not be clear yet and workers will be out plowing
Clean your car completely off before making that unnecessary trip
shovel off your sidewalk and clear your driveway and steps
think about just staying home until Sunday morning, why make it harder for the emergency personnel that have to work

    Thanks and be well

  11. I hope this township is taking the necessary steps to show true compassion on the unfortunate individuals living outdoors in Tent City in this storm. This is a very good day to raise their awareness and escort all trespassers to some shelter. Tomorrow night it will be ice and eleven degrees.

  12. We dont need snow for people to drive 20 mph under the speed limit, not signal and fly through stop signs and red lights and hit parked cars, it happens on a sunny day.
