KOL HAPOSHEIT YAD NOSNIM: VIDEO & LETTERS: Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman, Rabbonim Seek Public’s Assistance for Unfortunate Family

[VIDEO BELOW] [POSTED UPON REQUEST FROM ASKONIM] יהודים יקרים Every day finds new letters in your mailbox.  Happy and sad ones, from הכנסת כלה to establishing a fund for an אלמנה ויתומים ר”ל. However my letter is differen. Please give me four minutes of your time to explain my situation for it is in your hands to literally save my life!!

My name is Ephraim Chazan. I was born to a family of seven children and ב”ה we are all Bnei Torah.

Eleven years ago when I was still a bochur in yeshiva I suddenly found myself laying on the floor with my face covered in blood. I awoke to the frightened cries of a friend who found me. After being taken by ambulance to the hospital, intensive testing revealed that I had the disease Epilepsy ר”ל.

The disease peaked in 2009.

I was by my in-laws for Shabbos. On my way out to Mincha I lost consciousness and fell down a flight of stairs. My father-in-law found me and made the b’racha ברוך דיין האמת. In his shock he didn’t even think to call an ambulance. I woke up 40 minutes later in the hospital.

It is now eleven years later.

ב”ה with Hashem’s kindness I married a good (completely healthy) woman who agreed to marry me despite my condition. However every week I find myself literally between life and death.

Eleven Years of falling down in every imaginable place. In the house, in the street, in shul, in yeshiva, on the bus or on the train.

Eleven years of epileptic seizures, loss of consciousness, ambulances and medication.

Eleven years of shame, of poverty, of hunger and want.

This past year (2012) was the worst one in my life. I had 28 epileptic seizures!

Our financial situation has become unbearable. No food on the table and no clothing to wear.

My wife and children are currently living with my in-laws as my utilities were shut off three months ago.

Our home is shattered.

Fortunately, an opportunity to rebuild my life and the lives of my family has arrived. There is a medical break-though to cure my epileptic condition. Doctors in Israel and America have recommended I undergo brain surgery here in the United States. However the testing and operation will cost thousands of dollars.

I do not have the money for this.

All I have is the desire to improve my life and the lives of my wife and children.

I want to be healthy like you and like everyone else.

I’d like to earn a respectable living and escape the poverty we find ourselves in.

יהודים יקרים רחמנים בני רחמנים

You can help me.

You can help save my life and the lives of my wife and children.

I got to know Reb Ephraim since last year. A true ehrliche yingerman, always giving chizuk and trying to help help others as much as he can, even in his current situation.
