Close to 200 Without Power; More Outages Expected
Close to 200 JCPL customers in Lakewood are without power this afternoon – apparently related to the arriving storm. The NWS says you can expect more power outages as trees take down wires due to the strong winds.
According to JCPL, about 10,000 in Ocean and Monmouth Counties are without power.
Snow is expected to arrive later this evening, with a total accumulation of about 2-4 inches.
As reported on our News Alerts, Township officials are asking residents to remove all trash and recycling cans from the roadway.
Residents are also urged to tie down any loose objects outside their homes. (PHOTO: Hooper Avenue this afternoon).

Why does Lakewood always lose power. It seems like Lakewood loses power more than any other town around.
To I don’t get it …. I cannot provide you with an official answer to your question but in my own personal opinion the answer would be …. complete overdevelopment of a town and said town does not have the infrastructure to support such development….. said infrastructure includes power grids along with roads and the such .
