PHOTOS: Fire Destroys Whispering Pines Home With Shul

PHOTOS: A fire on Friday night completely destroyed a Whispering Pines home which was home to a Shul, officials tell TLS. The fire started about 10 PM, according to neighbors,and the home reportedly had heavy smoke emerging from the home the time firefighters arrived

Another General Alarm was hit out this morning, when apparently the same house caught fire, sources say.

The house is home to a Bobov Minyan as well. The Sifrei Torah were unharmed, a source told TLS.

Nobody was injured, and the fire is under investigation.

  1. The fire dept, police, lcsw, ocean county fire marshal and lakewood township inspection dept, jcpl, njng were all sensitive to the situation of the 3 homes that had to be vacated. Their professionalism and sensitivity to the torah scrolls , shabbos, and concernfor everones saftey is comendable. Fire chief Stark. Fireman Youmans, and all the volunters, Bobby from ocean county fire marshall . The words to say is THANK YOU .
    And as usual thank you to the neighbors who took in the families displaced . Whispering pines is a wonderful caring neighberhood and its times like these that prove it.

  3. Although I agree that you need to be very vigilant this time of year, please note that this fire was not due to any negligence on the homeowner’s end.

We will also help all that we’re affected in rebuilding, the Lakewood community is known for chesed and compassion , and will show this time around also how a yiddishe heart works to help a fellow of ours in time of need, Chag kosher

  6. It might be a good idea to to put your bathroom fans on a separate switch. If the builders cared about the people they sold houses to instead of how much money they can save by cutting corners on construction they would use a better quality fan in the bathroom.

  7. Why do you have to bashmootz the builders? They provide the stuff that you want. Basic everything, no upgrades available. They are convinced that you wouldn’t want to pay an extra $100 to have better, stronger, quieter and safer bathroom fans. And they may be right!

  8. #21 i understand the cuts being made. but i dont think the tax payers know that buy cutting our budget we cannot replace damaged equipment. we do not have enough air packs on our fire trucks as per NFPA requirements ! cutting the fire budget is going to cost us lives . we need to stop and think.
