Inspection, Police Departments Take Count of Structures at Tent City

PHOTO: Officials from the Inspection and Police Departments today paid a visit to Tent City to get an updated count on the structures at the homeless encampment, an official tells TLS.

During a February count, the structures at the camp off Cedar Bridge Ave were numbered at 130 – 125 of them tents, the official said.

The count and the recent serving of violations comes amidst the re-filing of the lawsuit by the Township, and upcoming hearing.

According to a temporary agreement from about two years ago, the squatters were banned from building any new structures – an agreement which has since been broken, officials said during recent public meetings. TLS.

Was a count taken previously? Back when the judge made the original ruling?

i remember that count was below 100 like around 80, then the hurricane and it was over 100, now another few months and close to 150…….whens it going to end….we want our quality of life back soon.
i would like to start a list of volunteers who would help dismantle that place on a nice warm Sunday afternoon and move hem out and tear that place apart once and for all.

  • RG3 - DB4 says:

To WOW – bad idea. If u touch 1 fiber of their tent w/out proper permission, they’ll cite YOU for trespassing, property damage, unlawful demolition, working w/ out a permit etc – which will cost in $1,000s. While the illegal tent dweller will laugh all the way to the campfire. rg3 & db 4.
