Pedestrian Seriously Injured after being Struck by Vehicle; Traffic & Safety Investigating

PHOTO: A pedestrian was seriously injured this evening after being struck by a vehicle, police say. The incident occurred shortly after 6 PM at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Pearl Street, when the man reportedly walked into oncoming traffic.

Hatzolah and EMS responded to the scene, and found the patient semi-responsive, sources say.

He was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center.

Lakewood’s Traffic & Safety Division is investigating. TLS-46.

  1. as a driver (and im sure im not alone) i cant figure out why pedestrians think they glow in the dark naturally their neshomos im sure do glow but to the average driver w/o out a reflecter WE CANT SEE YOU and sometimes by the time we do see you its TOO LATE
    speak to those victims who spend months in the hospital and rehab its really not worth it to be lazy about putting on a reflecter mothers,wives please take 15 minutes and sew on a reflecter to your sons, daughter husbands coat
    youll save weeks of running back and forth to the hospital visiting
    if im schocking you great if you laugh it off bear in mind i warned you

  2. HISPANIC MALE 19-20 YRS. CROSSED IN MIDDLE OF THE BLOCK.
    HE WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO TRAFFIC. THE DRIVER COULD NOT SEE HIM . TOO DARK.
