Pirchei Agudas Yisroel of America’s 50th Annual National Siyum Mishnayos, al shem Harav Yehoshua Silbermintz z”l, will take place Sunday April 14th at The Palace Hall in Brooklyn. The siyum celebrates thousands of Mishnayos, learned throughout the year by elementary-age yeshiva boys in the United States either through the Kesser Mishnayos program or at their local Pirchei branches.
Present as well, will be 30 boys who are being mesayem all of Shisha Sidrei Mishna and who will take part in a special bechina preceding the Siyum. They will also be honored with places at the dais, as well as a special gathering in their honor to be held in June, at which they will receive a Shas.
This year Pirchei will be having a special tribute to those who were involved over the years coordinating these siyumim. The planners are encouraging all past siyum coordinators to contact the national office and attend this year’s siyum. Additionally Pirchei extends an invitation to anyone who was a Mishnayos contest winner over the years to attend this year’s siyum.
Rabbi Fishel Shachter, Menahel at Yeshiva Torah Vodaas and famous storyteller, will serve as the event’s Master of Ceremonies.
Divrei bracha will be delivered by Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, executive vice president of Agudas Yisroel of America. Rabbi Yisroel Belsky shlita, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Torah Vodaath, will deliver the keynote address.
The Siyum Mishnayos, the premier Torah event of the year for children, has been inspiring children yearly since its inception 50 years ago. Mechanchim and baalei batim alike have warm memories of past Siyumei Mishnayos they themselves attended; now they take pride in the Siyumei Mishnayos-attendance of their children and grandchildren.
I was ay the first one 50 years ago and it brings back good memories. Thank you Perchai keep up the good work!!
