Reader-Submitted: Thank You Officer, Whoever You Are

Reader-Submitted: Hi, my Name is Ray Guyre, on Saturday April 6th I took my family to a Blueclaws game, and at the bottom of the 8th inning my wife told me to go and start the car, so I did. Long story short, I locked both sets of keys in the car.

I call the Lakewood Police Department non emergency line of course and was greeted by a very plesent voice on the other end of the phone. After explaining to the woman what had happened she explained to me that there was only one officer on duty with a car tool that could help me and my family. She also explained that he was on a call and when he got back to head quarters she would dispatch him to my location.

After about 45 minutes, I received a phone call from the dispatcher informing me that the officer was on his way. When he got there, he was very funny and very helpful. I do wish I got everyones name that helped me that day.

So in closing I would just like to see if you can post a small thank you to all the men and woman of the Lakewood Police Department. Thank you for your service and all you do for the community.

Thank You
The Guyre Family
Brick, N.J.

  1. #1 go get a life….this was a non emergency call, do u know all the protocols of the wonderful police dept?? so then just compliment them for helpin out a person in need……

  2. To #1- Most officers do not carry car tools..this one particular officer prob had one in his personal vehicle. he doesnt carry it on him. Its something that is done when its needed. He prob doesnt need it every day so He keeps it in his personal car.
If called upon he can come retrieve it at his vehicle and then go to the assistance call. I know of many officers that just wont do that anymore. This guy is not like that..Nice Job Officer

  3. I was NOT helped by the men and women of the lakewood pd recently, but I would like to take this moment to thank them from the bottom of my heart for being there for me my family and the entire community .
God willing I will never have to thank them personally for something but will be able to just stand behind them and publicly say THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO

  4. Please DO NOT publish publish my comment but this whole post seems to be typical TLS police worship.

And did number #1 ask something so ridiculous to get such a response?

    Enough already.
