Infant Airlifted to Hospital After Suffering Severe Burns

PHOTO: [UPDATED] A 15 month old boy was airlifted to the hospital after suffering severe burns, as earlier reported on our News Alerts.

Police tell TLS the boy received 2nd degree burns from spilling on himself hot tea left on the kitchen counter. The boy suffered burns to his face, neck and chest, police say.

The boy suffered burns to 18% of his body, Detective Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith tells TLS.

Hatzolah Paramedics transported the boy to the Lakewood High School parking lot, where a waiting helicopter transported him to the Saint Barnabas Burn Center in Livingston, NJ.

The boy’s condition was listed as stable, Stffordsmith said. [TLS]
