UPDATED: As reported on our News Alerts, over 1,500 JCP&L customers in Lakewood are without power, as of about 9:25 PM. Police tell TLS the affected areas are mostly around the Hope Chapel Road, Country Place and Shady Lane areas.
About 200 Jackson residents are also without power.
Police say the outage may have been caused by an overload on the grid – being that many are now turning on their air condition systems.
JCP&L gave an estimate of 11 PM for power to be restored, police say.

This is what happens when developement outpaces the infrastructure
Maybe if houses stopped being built on every piece of land there would be enough power to go to everyone. How can the electric company keep up? Something has to be done with all land being turned into condos, townhouses and single family homes.
