PHOTOS: Police Unity Tour Kicks Off – ‘We Ride For Those Who Died’

PHOTOS: Hundreds of bikers in NJ today will be participating in the annual Police Unity Tour – a four-day bike tour to Washington, D.C, honoring law enforcement officers who have died while on duty.The goal of the ride is to raise awareness about those who have died in the line of duty, and at the same time raising funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial.

Though the Tour won’t be passing through Lakewood this year, Lakewood Traffic & Safety officers Sergeant Frank Work and Patrolman Erik Menck have as well as Sergeant David Sussman and Ms. Lisa Preslar – wife of fallen LPD officer, have joined in the ride.

  1. Three years ago, in May, the President had “Poetry Night” at the White House. One of the guests was a rapper called Common. He wrote “A Song for Assata” in honor of the woman who murdered New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster .
