PHOTOS & VIDEO [UPDATED] The heavy downpour this morning is causing heavy flooding on numerous streets around town. There are also reports of downed wires.
Numerous motorists attempting to drive through deep waters, have gotten stuck. Some waters are nearly 2 feet deep.
Police and Chaveirim are urging motorists to use extreme caution when driving during such storms.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch, which is in effect until late tonight.
UPDATE: The Lakewood Police Department is urging motorists not to attempt to drive through deep water. Also reduce speed and use headlights and flashers.
Chaveirim has received about 40 calls in a 30 minute span, Chaveirim says. Many were for vehicles stuck in water, and heavy flooding in homes and schools.

Can people send in posts about where there is flooding? I have to go to work later and it would be helpful to know what streets to avoid.

There is flooding on Martin Luther Between Pine & Wynatt.
4th street by foodex has flooding. rte 88 by monmouth is also flooded
Squankum from 11th to county line flooded and closed
Flooding on Lexington and 9th.
Lexington is closed between 8th street and 10th street.
Terrible flooding in Squankum from tenth until Carey
Huge puddle on intersection of laurelwood and 14th use caution
