FIRST REPORT: [PHOTOS & VIDEO] [UPDATED] Authorities this morning are investigating a homicide of a local store manager, sources tell TLS.
At about 9 AM this morning, police received a call reporting a woman had failed to show up at work – local pharmacy. With contact unable to be made with her, Police responded to her Country Place home and upon entry discovered her body. A preliminary investigation showed the woman had been murdered.
The woman, approximately in her fifties or sixties, lived with her son at the home, a neighbor told TLS. The son was not around when police arrived, and her vehicle was not in the driveway this morning, the neighbor said.
UPDATE 4:30 PM: The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Spokesman tells TLS the victim was a 61 year old woman. Being that she religiously showed up to work puntually, her concerned co-workers alerted police of her absence.
“At this point w’ere treating the death as suspicious, until the Medical Examiner advises us the manner and cause of death,” the spokesman said.
The car is a 2013 4-door Grey Honda Civic, with a license plate of E46-CWW.
Anyone with information is asked to “observe and report” to 911. Do not attempt to approach the vehicle.
