Reader-Submitted: Video Shows Full School Vehicle Hit Speeds of 95 MPH

VIDEO: A reader tells TLS a full NJ school vehicle was seen driving at excessive speeds of close to 100 MPH on the highway – and he has video to prove it.

“The video shows them doing near 100mph with a full vehicle,” the reader who submitted the video to TLS says. “They passed me very fast after crossing several lanes at once, with no blinker.”

The video screens switch between the school van and his speedometer to prove his point.

  1. Put down the camera and call police ASAP. Thsi is one of those times it is OK to use your phone while driving. You should have called the police with the road, mile marker, vehicle description and plate number if you can see it. What if this van had one of your kids in it? Wouldn’t you want the van stopped immediatley?

  2. I agree with #2. You are not the LAW and probably never will be. So not only where they breaking the law by speeding, you were too. Mind your own business…

  3. So you decided to do 95mph while holding your cell phone trying to video the van and your speedometer, I am more concerned at this point with your actions then the school van who aside from their speed is not driving recklessly. You however are being very reckless, rather then trying to film and drive you should have got their plate, company name and called 911 if you are that concerned with the children’s safety.

  4. Very safe for the video taker going 95 mph and being busy with his video camera at the same time as it says in the article “he was alternating the camera between his speedometer and the school vehicle”. In my opinion the video taker was a lot more distracted from his driving than the school vehicle. He could have caused a major accident. I agree with the previous commentor to use your phone and call 911 and give the vehicle description and location.

  5. Nobody should be driving our children around at these speeds. I commend the video taker for documenting this as we all know that by the time the police get on the road and try to locate this bus, they will be long gone and will deny it.
