A man with warrants was arrested after a tire falling off from his vehicle arroused the suspicion of a patrolling Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch member.
At approximately 1:10 am this morning, an LCSW member spotted a vehicle in the area of Forest Avenue driving with two flat tires. The member found it suspicious, and decided to follow the vehicle for several minutes.
While traveling on Central Avenue, the member witnessed one of the tires coming off the vehicle, and with the metal now scraping on the road, and sparking, the member decided to phone police, a coordinator says.
Detective Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith tells TLS that Officer Will Allen located the vehicle on Cross Street and stopped the vehicle. The driver, says Staffordsmith, had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
He was transported to Lakewood Police Headquarters where he was processed and later released, Staffordsmith says. [TLS-CCP/TLS-46]
Kudos to a very alert LCSW member. Special thanx to LPD for responding & picking up this perp. Good Work, boys; stay @ it !!
was it a blue car???? was right behind this car driving on RT 9 south, he was driving like a maniac, hit the curb and swerved and than just kept on driving.
Hey, guy has a warrant for arrest.lets arrest him, then release him… sounds about right
This is what lcsw is good for. Good job! Not for calling them when you have a serious safety issue like has been the practice recently.
This was a serious safety issue. And as always LCSW assesed the the situation and requested PD when they deemed necessary and appropiate
Kudos to Officer Allen, he recently helped me in a huge way, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident, and had severe back pain. He was able to direct me to the best bed available.
May I ask a really stupid question? What exactly was suspicious about a car having two flat tires?
UNCLE MO THAT IS A STUPID QUESTION
Officer Allen is almost always alert! Nice job Officer Allen. You deserve a nap!
