PHOTO: Using Your Phone in Satmar Shul Can Now Get YOU Annoyed

PHOTO: You may want to rethink about picking up that phone or responding to a text message in the Satmar Shul during Davening.

A man today decided to protest the habit by walking around during Davening holding a picket sign in hopes of puttingĀ a stop to the practice – which Mispallemim find annoying, and a display of Bizayon for the Makom Kadosh. [TLS-WS]

  1. he’s got a point. every shul should have a locker were ppl can put their cell. TLS had a story a while ago regarding a shul that had that installed. but security would be a GREAT concern for me.

  2. What happens these days with cell phones during Davening? We say to ourselves, Hashem i am not going to talk on the phone i don’t care who it is if its my wife or if it says 911 i promise you i won’t talk during davening I’m just going to look at the caller ID. Now you tell me why is that just as bad as talking on the phone or even worse? When you see this number on your caller ID, your entire Davening just got lost. (the person might as well take off his Tefillin & go home) For the rest of davening you are all worried what could my wife want from me? Is it good or bad? Maybe i just lost a big chance of a business deal. I f you don’t recognize the caller ID your always thinking who could it be? Is it good or bad? & then your hands are shaking for the rest of davening. PROBLEM: we don’t realize who we are standing in front of & that he sees you looking at your cell phone at the EXACT SAME time that you are davening to Hashem. If you keep you cell phone in the car until you come back, Hashem will hear & appreciate your Davening much much more.

  3. You guys always look at things through thick glasses. Be happy that these people are davening with a minyan. Don’t bother them because you are oh a higher level. We need to respect them for taking the time out and going to shul. There are thousands and thousands who don’t even go to shul. The next generation will have to be tolerant of the changes taking place.

  4. #9 Oh realy now “be happy they come to daven” you say? Well what about not being so happy that they come to Shul AND DISTURB OTHERS WITH THEIR CELL PHONES! LET THEM STAY HOME!!!!!!!!!!
And some of them SHOULD KNOW BETTER!!!!

I decided to shut mine totaly not even vibrate and I STARTED SEEING MAJOR YESHUOS IN SOMETHING I HAVE BEEN DAVENING FOR A WHILE.
DO THE SAME AND MAY HASHEM ANSWER YOUR TEFILOS TOO!
