We regret to inform you of the Petirah of R’ Lazer Shoop Z”L, who was Niftar just before Shabbos following a sudden illness. R’ Eliezer Aryeh, from Pine River and originally from Montreal, Canada, was 55.
The Levaya will be taking place at 9:15 a.m. at JFK Airport Elal Cargo B, enroute to Eretz Yisroel.
Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
Mr Shoop z”l was a huge bal chessed and an even bigger tzadik!!!
in his unassuming way he did huge amounts of chessed without anyone even knowing about it. whether it was tzedakah or chessed, hatzalah and countless other “projects” he did – all w/o any fanfare. yehee zichro boruch
As someone who was close to Mr. Shoop z”l and his family, I can totally agree to what Montreal said. Mr. Shoop was a REAL ba’al chessed, helping out so many yidden whom he didn’t even know. As an active member of Hatzolah Montreal, and as a true Oheiv Yisroel, he truly was a man to learn from.
Mr Shoop zl will be missed it waz a hard thing when they left but he always wanted to live in lakewood . The amount of chesed that he did quietly without anybody knowing. may his family know of only simchos
BDE

I give his family much strength, so sad to hear.
He was a standing pillar of kindness and was devoted to being a Hatzola, He was such an amazing man, a man of strength, a man of courage, a man of faith.

How is the family doing?
May we ba zoche to see Moshiach and reconnect with all our lost ones.
He was not only a YBM talmid, he was a Scranton native. My dear friend from age five through our late teen years, not surprised to hear that he was known as”baal chesed” and “baal midos” as an adult. It must also be mentioned that he was also a an “academic superstar” both in Limudei Kodesh and Chol. May he be a Melitz yosher for his family and all of Klal Yisrael
An old friend I’ve known since I was born! His father was my rabbi and he was a grade school friend. A kind man and a life to short…. May his memory be a blessing… to all who knew him. I am sorry for this loss….
Does anyone have Shiva information?
