BREAKING: Registered Offender Arrested, Charged in Abduction Attempt of 2 Teenage Lakewood Girls

BREAKING: The man suspected of attempting to lure two teenage girls into his vehicle this morning – as TLS first reported – was arrested and charged by authorities.

In an exclusive video message, Police Chief Rob Lawson tells TLS that the suspect, a Registered Offender, attempted to lure two girls at two different locations, but the girls ran off. One incident occurred on 14th Street, and the other on Kimberly Drive. One of the girls was 14 and the other 15 years old.

While Officer Richard Stanick was gathering information on the second call, Officer Rob Meyer located the vehicle and suspect in the area of Hope Chapel Road and Country Club Drive, and conducted a traffic stop.

Nicholas Ravaioli, 29, of Jackson Township, was arrested and brought to Police Headquarters.

At Lakewood headquarters, Det. Lindsay Woodfield of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Det. Steven Wexler of the Lakewood Police Department arrested Nicholas Ravaioli after interviewing the victims and charged him with Luring and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office confirms.

Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel Daniels set bail at $300,000.00 no 10% and Ravaioli was lodged in Ocean County Jail. Nicole’s Law was implemented assuring Ravaioli has no contact with the victims.

NOTE: There is the potential for additional victims in this case. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lakewood Police Department are encouraging any other victims to contact either the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit at 732-929-2027 or the Lakewood Police Department at 732-363-0200.

  1. amazing just shows proper awarness and reporting does the job kudos to tls for reporting and lets hope e/o teaches their children about basic safety rules and save countless of children from harm.

  2. Remove the creep off the streets and in addition revoke his license to drive a vehicle in case he does somehow get let loose.

While a vehicle may be a typically innocent tool most of us use, in the hands of some creeps it turns into a weapon to endanger and cause harm to our innocent children. I pray the prosecution team has the sense to make the appropriate legal argument to the Judge. The legal analogies are straightforward and already exist.

  3. Apparently, he was released barely a year ago, and the court failed to revoke his license to use a vehicle. Let’s pray they don’t repeat that mistake again.

  4. Wow. I gotta say I’m impressed!

The suspect’s details and a picture taken TODAY are already uploaded onto the NJ State offender registry

It always feels good when we know that law enforcement is on top of their game.

Now let’s hope that out prosecutor, Joseph Coronato, does his part in protecting society from this repeat offender. I also hope he considers the advice previously stated.

  5. (moderated) offenders can not be rehabilitated, they should be locked up for life its not a matter of if its only when, and next time is when they kill their victim. Reporters in Lakewood should be on top of this case and expose it to the public if he gets off lightly

  6. There are registered offenders living in Tent City also !!???!!!

Go ahead google it “registered offenders tent city lakewood nj” you will be shocked!!!

  7. Its his word against hers. How can they just lock up a guy like this. Just like the weberman case. They took her word and he will be sitting for the rest of his life soly based on her word.

  8. This guy needs to spend some time behind bars for sure. Knowing that this person has a prior history indicates he will only do it again if he’s not forced off our streets for good. Thanks to all the officers who helped apprehend this predator, it’s a relief to know he’s spending what hopes to be the beginning of his new home away from home.

  9. Hmmm..for all those who always seem to know exactly where the criminal in any occurrence lives (read: slumlords, etc) I guess maybe it’s best to wait and see on these stories. The guy’s from Jackson. Not a Lakewood slum tenant after all. Don’t get me wrong- I’m not a slumlord fan, but so many jump right in on every story as if they know it all-An accident? Must have been a distracted driver or “typical Lakewood driver.” Assault? Must’ve been a slum tenant.

  10. It’s not his word against hers ….there were 2 separate incidents in 2 different locations and they are both saying the same thing. And as the article stated that there maybe more victims .

  11. #25, no one blamed any hispanics. no one even named any race/nationality aside from a few wacko’s who automatically associate “illegal” with “hispanic”.

  12. oh ok mr conservative provide us with the following information Was he Illegal? What about his car plates? It is just annoying that nothing can ever happen here without people like you blaming others in this case illegals and guess what you were wrong!!! All the things about slum lords and how you had to do so many things just to rent an apartment nobody cares about that mr know it all. And the funny part is that you were wrong. You are so full of it. It is so easy for people like you to judge and blame while you are hidding behind a computer. Show some respect and apologize to the people you judge without even knowing anything and next time please wait before you begin with your comments.

  13. So horrible. Just a couple blocks away from my house.
A 23 year old lured a 6 year old couple years back!. Are you kidding me?!? Now approaching two young teenagers. Whatever pain or issues this man is been thru I am sorry but that does not justify his actions. We all have our hardships and pain, how many of us reacted this way? Not I and not one of my friends. If you are so miserable and have a sucky life, harm yourself, not others. Im not gonna sit n curse him out, but at this point I don’t think there’s a need to sympathize him. His actions weren’t human. Sometimes all we can do is take a lesson from a story like this..

  14. I met this guy at my job just the day before he did this. It was his first day on the job and something didn’t seem right about him and when I saw his picture on Here , I could not believe I was so close to such a crazy person. Thank god my boss has cameras in her store and hr knew this. Because that could of been me!
