[LETTER] Following the latest attempted luring incident this past Yom Tov, Multiple Lakewood Rabbonim have signed an urgent Psak stating that anyone witnessing even a possible attempt of luring or abduction should immediately phone police on Shabbos or Yom Tov.
The Rabbonim, whose signatures are attached, have stated that not phoning police in such instances on Shabbos or Yom Tov falls under the category of ‘Lo Samod Al Dam Re’echa’.
Following the arrest of the convicted offender earlier this month, Harav Forscheimer released a Psak about the urgency of the issue. However, after Yom Tov’s incident, Askonim have approached several other Rabbonim in Lakewood as well in an effort to further impress the urgency of the matter to the Lakewood community. [TLS]
