The local police departments – including Lakewood – are on the lookout for a man suspected of robbing a Brick Township TD Bank Thursday evening.
At approximately 7pm, officers responded to the TD Bank located at 989 Burnt Tavern Road, for a report of a robbery.
On scene, officers were advised that a white male subject (approx. 5-02, approx. 40 yoa, acne scarring on his face, wearing a brown/grayish windbreaker, jeans, running shoes, wearing a large brown wig, and sunglasses) entered the bank and stated to a teller “put the money in the bag and no one will get hurt.”
After receiving a quantity of money from the teller the suspect fled the bank on foot and was believed to be headed in the direction of the CVS Pharmacy which is located just across the parking lot.
Officers set up a perimeter in the area, and began a systematic search.
The New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit was contacted, and their Southstar Helicopter responded to the area to assist Brick Police ground units in a search of the large wooded area north of the bank. The search by police units ended with negative results.
The Brick Police K-9 Unit, the Brick Police Criminal Investigation Unit, and the Brick Police Detective Bureau also responded to help with the investigation.
The robbery is being investigated by Detective Thomas Cooney of the Brick Township Police Detective Bureau.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Cooney at (732)-262-4708, or the Brick Township Police Detective Bureau at (732)-262-1120.
