VIDEO: Close to 150 contestants piled into Stingers/656 Ocean restaurant last night for The Final Meal before weighing in at the start of their 100 day Weight Loss competition.
Ipads were rewarded for anyone who raised $1800 during the party, as well as an XBox to the person who gained the most, during the 3 hour duration of the Party.
C”ontestants ate till their hearts desire, loading up last-minute calories and fluids, before hitting the scale,” said a coordinator.
The party was sponsored by Y. Beyman from Reliance Capital Group and one of the 2 top $25,000 prizes is sponsored by Burach and Chani Jeremias.
The competition will culminate with a Weigh-Out Weekend at the Berkely Hotel on February 14th, where contestants will be treated to an uplifting and enjoyable Shabbos with the family. Sponsorship opportunities still available.

One word- Disgusting. While it is for a great cause, there are standards and certain boundaries which were shattered here by this whole program. I am one of the many many people who will NOT be supporting this organization anymore.

I understand your frustration with this program and perhaps you may even have some valid points. However, you are losing sight of the main objective, and that is for the overall benefit of these special children.

I don’t think it is fair for anyone in this forum to be bashing Lose 4 Autism because in essence the ones you are hurting are these special children that desperately need this program and have no where else to turn.
Each and every dollar can make a remarkable difference in someones life. Please internalize these words, because someone who may be reading these negative comments may not realize what the main objective is and C’V and pass judgement. The children will ultimately suffer!

so not needed. imray bena came up with a great and competitive way for people to lose weight and support an amazing cause. why not just stop there, why not just keep it at lose4autism. why do you feel that without Xbox’s, superbowl tickets, who could gain the most weight in 2 hours, open bars and outlandish parties. why is the cash prizes not enough. why the need to make this into such a non-yidisheh fundraiser. your marketing FRUM over weight people not goyim. everyone there was frum and orthodox why do they all have to be associated with all this now. you can not run a program under the auspices of imray bena and then use the great work that they do as a scape goat. in todays world that we live in every Chinese auction has electronics and gadgets bec that is what attraces todays society. to say “well oorah gives away ipads” is foolish and does not compare or contrast to this nonsence in the slightest. imray bena had a great thing going for them and they sort of went to far with this.
