Massive NJ Warehouse Could be Used for Historic Asifa

citi 3A massive warehouse near Edison, New Jersey, may be used for the planned historic Asifa, News Breakers reports. However, the Asifa itself has not yet been finalized, partially due the failure to find the proper venue for such a large event.

Earlier reports suggested organizers were seeking to place a tent large enough to host about 50,000 people, but such an option proved to be close to impossible – given both the weather and the time frame they’re dealing with.

The Asifa – to protest Giyus of Yeshiva Bachurim – was initially planned for January 7, though it may be postponed until the Spring.

Before the warehouse in NJ could be finalized, the event organizers would need to obtain the proper permits, and work on other critical logistics such as transportation, parking and more.

Among the Rabbonim expected to attend the large event, would be the Belzer Rebbe.

Plans are expected to be finalized in the next day or two. [TLS-News Breakers/KolHaolam]

  1. I’m sincerely wondering what’s to be gained in spending huge amounts of money and resources and of course investing so much time to put this asifa together when it won’t change not a single mind in the Israeli government. I would have thought something like making a Yom Tefila- for example this week together with Yom Kippur Kotton or any day making a day of hisoirreros would accomplish a whole lot more, as we all know in the end who really makes the decisions. That’s just my 2 cents but of course the askonim and all the movers and shakers are the ones who make the decisions around here – not me and so let the preparations continue.

  2. Why have we not done teshuva yet? What are we waiting for? How many
bochrim will need to sit in jail al kiddish Hashem before we start doing teshuva?

Why have our leaders-gedolim-in k lal y isroel not made a time for teshuva, taanis (fasting), and kibbutz etc…?

  3. Wondering the same thing.

What exactly is gained by giving speeches?

Politically, not one Israeli politician that makes a difference could care less, even if they actually are aware of it.

A gathering for Tfillah certainly is a powerful tool, but that does not seem to be the point of this gathering.

I suppose its to let them know that there are Americans who are against the draft. However, even if that is worth something (which is hard to imagine) it would probably have a better shot in Israel.

Also, its not like Israeli politicians are not aware that chareidi people don’t like the draft. They also don’t care.
