Why are windows open in the Winter? Did the child fall thru a closed window? Pray that the child will fully recover.
to #1 – silly question, today was quite warm for January and anyway it is good to air out your house even in the winter.
Toifiknewthen
don’t know where u from but this morning was in the 60’s in lakewood.
But don’t know if it was open in this case
#1 it was pretty warm outside today so many people had their windows open
I’m not sure i understand that question of ” why are windows open…” Our AC was on all weekend as the temp hit 75 and it was quite hot!!! Why are windows not open ?????????? May this toddler have a speedy and full recovery !!
Yes , I agree windows should have been open today!
We are praying for a full recovery.
Any Tehillim name ?
Tehilim name?
Refuah sheleima
don’t worry about the window or try to imply blame, just hope the child recovery’s and we all are more careful.
Just say Tehilim, hashem knows who it is. Don’t be such a yanta
My son fell out of a window a few yrs ago. We now drill nails on either side in all windows so the window only opens about 3 inches from the bottom. We teach our children windows are only to be opened from the top.
that will hinder evacuation in case of fire. the top window is too high & against code for egress in case of fire. you really should review with the building dept what you have done . it may be acceptable in rooms other than bedrooms but even so there are shields you can purchase as am option .
anonymous, not a safe thing that u are doing. code sets a minimum distance from the floor to the window that opens in bedrooms in case of fire. not too mention the confusion this what you have done will cause.
& the screws damage the integrity & warranty if any of the windows.
I hope the child recover soon. I have a 2y old child , and I open my window no more than 2 fingers just to let the air in.
not a good idea to limit the opening of the bottom window. a child & even adults will have difficulties & may even not be able to exit the top window. better idea is to install a child shield.
you really do not want to limit the opening of the bottom windows in case of fire, the top window is too high to climb out fast on case of fire.
a child would have an even harder time. and in the time if fire one may not even think to open the top window.
why do you moderate me out, my remark could save lives. I speak from experience. you really do not want to limit an egress window in case of fire.
besides it is code for good reason not to limit the opening & install an approved for that purpose child guard.
Sorry to disagree leon. Fire danger shouldn’t take precedence over current danger. The fact that its against code means nothing. Most codes are stupid. Anyway if you have bars or some other child shield you won’t be able to get out by a fire.
anon , codes are stupid? think be hire u write! & it is not bars but childproof break away shield that will not be a problem on case of fire.
number 18 your way of thinking gets people killed…
Number 18 guess you are the person who does not follow any rules. If you think codes are stupid you also don’t believe in other safety laws That’s how people get hurt.
