An alleged drug dealer was caught after a foot pursuit, which started with a suspended license offense, Detective Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith said today.
On April 23rd at approx. 4:30pm Detectives from the Lakewood Police Department Street Crimes Unit observed a man they knew to have a suspended license, driving on Erica Road before parking it in front of a nearby home.
As they approached the car, the driver, 22 yr old Kyle Mack of Lakewood, exited and started to quickly walk away. The Detective’s ordered him to stop but Mack ignored them and attempted to flee on foot.
After a brief foot pursuit, Mack was quickly apprehended and found to possess marijuana, crack cocaine, prescription pills and 54 packets of heroine.
He was subsequently charged with four counts of Possession of CDS, three counts of Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute, Obstruction and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a suspended license.
Bail was set by Superior Court Judge Rochelle Gizinski in the amount of $50,000 without a 10% option and he was transported to the Ocean County Jail. [TLS]
