Fidelity Payment Services to Distribute 1,000 Free $50 Gift Cards in Lakewood

gift cardsFidelity Payment Services on Sunday will be distributing 1,000 free pre-paid $50 gift cards to Lakewood families to help ease Yom Tov expenses, the company said.

“Our core mission is much more than electronic payment services,” says Fidelity. We’re a “community partner” actively seeking new ways to benefit Lakewood’s businesses – and the thousands of families they serve. At Fidelity, we’ve always got your back…in the world of payment technology and beyond.”

The free gift cards will be given out at 7:30 PM on a first-come-first-serve basis at the Fidelity Office – 1229 Madison Avenue. (The time has been changed from the originally-planned 6 PM time so as not to interfere with Learning Sedarim).

The gift cards can be redeemed at the following Lakewood stores: Bitz of Glitz, DB Electronics, Fashion Stop, G & B Clothing, Hat Craft, J2 Pizza, Judaica Plaza, Juvenile Planet, Kosher West, Madison Pharmacy, Miss Polka Dot, Periwinkle, Refuah Pharmacy, Schreiber’s Shoes, Super Stop Supermarket, The Fishing Line, The Lingerie Outlet, Town Appliances, Toys 4 U and Little Loungers.

  1. this doesn’t sound like an organized give away i think your inviting chaos why don’t you have an organization who gives out yom tov packages include this as well

  2. nice. wow. hmmm… 50 dollars ?? what is that costing them ?? times it by 1000 and you get 50,000 !! thats alot. Kol hakoved!!

  3. Embarrass people by making them line up for cards, then embarrass them again in the store….this PR gimmick could have been done in a more respectable way for the recipients…

  4. Nice intentions, bad execution. Why embarrass a thousand people for 50 bucks each? What of the embarrassment of those who come and wait only to be told, sorry ran out? Any number of better ways to help people with proper dignity.

  5. While no one will disagree that this is extremely generous on the part of Fidelity payment Services – however I would say that there are going to be people on line who don’t really need the money but would like an extra 50 dollars (especially if its free) and then there are going to be people that really need it. In my humble opinion it would seem a lot more worthwhile to give the same total amount but rather give $200 to 250 people who really need it and that amount of money can literally make all the difference to a family’s Yom Tov budget, then give a 1000 people where to many its just going to amount to some extra free cash….

  6. It was advertised in all the local papers for 6:00 PM. How will the people who have no computer know about the change of time to 7:30 PM ?

  7. Maybe if you’re doing it again next year, just add the gift cards to the to Tomchei Shabbos packages. Would save lots of time and embarrassment and would ensure the right people receive it. Would probably be much easier for all parties involved. Just my 2 cents.

  9. to yenty #13 The reason of change is because the yungerleit are learning then NO YUNGERMAN would chas v’shalom leave bais medrash for a $50 gift card they give up much more to be able to sit & learn

  10. everyone, calm down. its just PR, and its also benefiting those who receive the card, so all around, everyone should be happy…
