PHOTO: Large Brush Fire in Beachwood Sends Plumes of Smoke over Neighboring Ocean County Towns; Threatens Homes

angel beachwoodPHOTOS: A large brush fire is currently burning in Beachwood, Ocean County, sending large plumes of smoke over neighboring towns – including Toms River, Lakewood and Brick.

The fire is burning in the area of Pinewald Road, and threatening nearby homes.

Dozens of firefighters and crews from the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service are battling the uncontained flames.

beachwood tlsThe Ocean County Sheriffs Department has issued an evacuation notice for nearby residents.

A Red Flag Warning issued yesterday remains in effect for most of the State due to the strong wind gusts – up to 30 MPH – which could fuel brush fires. The Warning remains in effect until 8 PM tonight.
