PHOTO: The State Forest Fire Service was called to Tent City this afternoon after a tent fire spread to the nearby trees.
Shortly before 5 PM, a vacant tent went up in flames, sending flames into the nearby trees.
The Lakewood Fire Department responded and requested a brush truck due to the lack of accessibility to the fire. The fire was brought under control in about fifteen minutes.
Nobody was injured.
Lakewood’s Detective Bureau and Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the incident.

GO Ralpheeeeeeee
Not surprised. Why isn’t this place down already??
This is what we’ve all been afraid of. I hope the liberal judge that kept postponing the eviction reads the scoop & sees this story.
Let’s finally get them out once and for all and let our children play outside with out fear. Today we got off easy but another time the trees might v’s catch on.
Hey “Neighbor”, Your children won’t play outside for “fear” of tent city residents that stay in the woods but not the gangs and drug dealers that patrol the area and live in the apartments? What a ridiculous statement.
a little early for lag baomer
if the tent was vacant, why would it catch fire?
things dont usually just start burning by themselves….
