That’s something several residents are wondering. A resident tells TLS he nearly crashed while taking his children to school today after one of his tires on his vehicle became loose from an apparent intentional act.
The resident, who phoned police about the incident, says his rim was damaged and needed to have his vehicle towed after the lug nuts of his wheel came off.
“My mechanic told me a similar incident occurred with another resident as well,” the victim said.
The loosening of lug nuts of a school bus last week may have also been an intentional act, as reported yesterday on TLS.
“Police said you shouldn’t touch the tire if this occurs to you, as they may be able to get fingerprints off it,” the victim said.

Makes you wonder why would someone do that?? What benefit will he get from causing weird accidents???
There was a tire that went thru a windshield of acoach bus a few days ago in north Jersey. With hashgocha protis and a lot of rachmei shomayim there was only one serious injury. It might not be a local issue. Maybe some kind of gang initiation kind of shtick

A simple solution should require lug nut indicators be installed on all school bus wheel nuts. These small bright colored plastic pieces will indicate if any nuts have been tampered with or are loose. They are in use in ny on most city busses.
It’s easy to tell which car is owned by Yid. Almost every Sienna, Camry, Avalon, Crown Victoria, Accord and Oddessy in our town is frum owned. Allot of frum Lakewood cars have stickers from frum car stores or frum charity orgs on them. Also if you are parked on your driveway you have a Mezuza on your door, so it’s not that hard to tell. I would sugest using a crossbar to tighten you lug nuts every few once in a while.
did anyone try to find out what area/street/development this is happening in? If it was tampering, these types of ‘events’ usually occur in clusters in the same area.
My hub cap was stolen off my tire! I make sure they are tight all the time but seeems someone was desperate
