  1. Wow. Nice job by that company. I just wanna point out, the fact that our Rebbes, who have the most important jobs in Klal Yisroel, have to go out & supplement their income, is an avsolute Busha !! And its our fault.

  2. if you work part time you have to supplement your income. yeh.

and for all the rebbe complainers – if you dont like the salary find a different job. In this town there are about 50 people vying for every one Rebbe job opening. Count your blessings.

  3. Hey #2 check you head. We need top rebbeim for our children and ones that care about their talmidim individually. Great rebbeim will speak to parents late at night or stop by the house of the child is not feeling well for a few days. Being a rebbe is more than any 9-5 job. The rebbeim need to prepare for hours and deserve better pay. They deserve full days pay. They are the ones who can mold our children to be a ben torah. IF the rebbeim are stressed out due to multiple jobs how can you expect them to focus on your child.

  4. I disagree!
If they work part time they should be paid a part time salary. However, people that give to our children day in and day out deserve a salary commensurate to their devotion. They spend the greater part of their day giving to our children b’lev vnefesh and should be paid accordingly. The unfortunate reality of life is that when there is supply vs demand people lose out but please don’t say that they don’t deserve better, they do.

  5. Being a Rebbe is tough and I couldn’t do it and I tip my kids Rebbe for their hard work… But a Rebbe in Lakewood on all the programs – and including his free tuition and discounts – is grossing over $100,000 a year and only working till 3 and off for all the no school days.

  6. #2 I have news for you, even if a rebbi leave his yeshiva @ 2:00 it is still a full time job. I have a close relative who is a rebbi, last night he spent over 1 and a half hours on the phone speaking to parents ect. that is besides preparing, making sheets quizes that have to be maked ect.

  7. I and many others feel bad that Rabbeyim do not get paid more. Unfortunately many parents can not legitimately pay more than what they are paying for Sechar Limud and that makes it difficult for the Yeshivas to increase the Rabbeyim’s salaries. It is not only Rebbi’s that have to supplement their income. I and many others hold down more than one job in order to support our families and to pay tuition on time. The current economic situation and the lifestyle a orthodox Jewish person needs to live is the cause. Perhaps there should be a campaign similar to adopt a Kolel, for adopt a Yeshiva. After all Aniyei Ircha Kodem.
