Lakewood Resident Struck by Vehicle in Brick

lpd brick pdBrick Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle today, leaving him with serious injuries, police say.

‎Police say the driver was traveling northbound in the parking lot of the Bank of America, 150 Chambers Bridge Road, and while making a left turn into the lot to proceed in a westerly direction, the driver struck the pedestrian who was approximately 5 feet from the sidewalk. The driver immediately called 911.

Captain Robert Mazza along with Officer’s Jay Nye and Bryan Murphy were first arriving units on scene. Several other units, as well as the Brick Township Police Department’s Emergency Medical Services along with MONOC Paramedics also responded to the scene.

The pedestrian, 64 year old Philip B. Boldt Jr, Lakewood, was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with a fractured leg, head and internal injuries, police said. He was admitted to the hospital’s I.C.U.

Detective Peter Thomas of the Brick Township Police Department’s Identification Bureau also responded to assist at the scene.

A portion of the bank parking lot was closed to traffic during the investigation. The closure lasted approximately 2 hours. The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time.

Sergeant David G. Bedrosian and Officer Scott Dierking of the Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit responded and are continuing the crash investigation.
