Leave Your Condolences for David Rudy “Gee” Gaines

davidAs earlier reported, David Rudy “Gee” Gaines was identified as the motorcycle rider killed in a crash in Lakewood today. Gaines, a long-time Lakewood resident and a contractor for the Inspection department, was known to many in Lakewood as great and cheerful man.

  29. I don’t know where to begin, but know that this is NOT the end my dear friend. I saw you this morning, and once again, I joked with you about walking down the Alter at SSBC! Your last words to me were “Dina call me.” I said I would, but that call never happened. My heart is heavy, because over the years at the Insp. Dept. we because family….LOL Momma Rosie calling me with her complaints about the neighbors….and you driving me crazy with “Dina….I need this favor.” I wouldn’t give it up for anything in this world, because its the memories of you that will continue to live within me. This is NOT Goodbye, for I know that you Loved, Served, and Honored the same God that I do, and I will see you once again Dear Friend….When You see my Grandparents, and all those I love who have gone on before me….give them my love.   36. The last memory I have of Rudi, he was one of the responders to the 911 call to help rescue a little girl who got herself stuck in the baby swing at the Tuskegee Airmen Park in Manchester, NJ. The swing had to be cut but Rudi and those responders got that baby girl out in no time without injury. I’m very proud to call him my cousin. We lost a precious gem but his legacy will shine forever! I pray the peace of the Lord that surpasses all understanding be upon the Gaines family & community. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Rest In Paradise Rudi LuvUmuch!

  39. Each Sunday Its like we always seen into eachother after my church let out. You would be pulling out at the exact time I left church no matter what time it was you always had the bike out.   40. 20 YEARS AGO MY GRANDMOTHER WAS KILLED ON LEXINGTON AVE IN LAKEWOOD WHEN [ SOMEONE] RAN A STOP SIGN AND TOOK HER LIFE HE GOT A SLAP ON THE WRIST AND WAS SENT BACK TO HIS COUNTY MY FAMILY GOT A SLAP IN THE FACE !!!!!!! THINGS MUST CHANGE!@#$!@#$

I use to live at 115 Arlington ave when it snowed out and Rudy got done with his mom and the church I would hear him outside in my driveway before I went to work.so me and the girls didn’t have to do it and he use to look out for them as far as the (Boys) Allways had a kind word to say and jokes Then when I moved to Toms River he cut my grass you will be missed by many.

  55. When we bought our house 4 years ago which is back to back with his garage, he was the first one to welcome us to the neighborhood. “You watch my back and I’ll watch yours”. He was a good man and the one who made our block such a friendly place to live. He’d always wave to our kids in the window and put a smile on their faces. We’ll miss you Rudy!     An earlier commenter said it is sad that Rudi can’t read the many tributes being written. Therefore, I give this advice. If there is someone you really like, tell them while they are alive. They won’t hear the eulogy.

  76. I can not believe in just 10 days it will have been 1 year since you left us! I’m still torn and unable to accept this has happened at all. I know in my heart 2 weeks after your passing, you came to say goodbye. I felt your presence and smelled your cologne. I even felt your touch.
